Muntari could be axed for Guinea duel

Sulley Muntari could be sacrificed in Ghana's next game against Guinea, KickOffGhana.com understands.

The Inter Milan player has failed to impress in the Black Stars two games so far and Ghana coach Goran Stevanovic is said to be considering dropping his pet player to the bench for the final group game against Guinea.

The Serbian has preferred Muntari as the man behind main striker Asamoah Gyan despite regular criticism of his effectiveness but he was given reason to rethink his staunch backing for Muntari after Kwadwo Asamoah played a blinder especially in the first half against Mali after he was ignored for the opening game against Botswana.

Muntari has been hauled off in both games so far but has defended his displays to this stage.

That is unlikely to spare him the rod with Samuel Inkoom a possible addition to the starting line up against Guinea.

Inkoom is likely to be deployed at right midfield to beer up Ghana's defence with Guinea particularly potent on the left side of attack.

Kwadwo Asamoah will retain his place in the side this time as the man behind the main striker Asamoah Gyan while Dede Ayew takes his spot on the left side.
