New Orlando Pirates signing Sifiso Myeni admits that breaking into the team's starting XI won't be a walk in the park, but he is ready to fight for his place.  

The 23-year-old joins ‘Ezimnyama Ngenkani' on a three-year contract and says he is raring to go in the black and white jersey.
 
"It is a privilege and honour to join Orlando Pirates. I know it won't be easy to walk into the team because of the quality in the team, but I am prepared to fight for a place in the line-up," Myeni says.
 
Meanwhile, Thandani Ntshumayelo, who joins Pirates from SuperSport United, also says he is not at Pirates to add to the swelling numbers.
 
"Football is football, the harder you work the luckier you become.
 
"Pirates is a strong team, with strong players...but I'm not here to make up the numbers. I want to make a mark at the club," Ntshumayelo concludes.

The signing of Thandani is by far the best signing for Pirates. Its good that he gets less attention from people and the media. I agree with you, Jali did not have competition and now he has it. Thandani is a marvel to watch, not only can he win ball in the midfield, his attacking abilities are very good, better than Jali when attacking.

While other teams try to convince their players to renew and sign for them, Pirates is trying to convince them not to seek employement with them because all the posts have been filled. It was Roger De Sa who first came with this broken leg thing. He did not want Myeni to leave Wits, he thought, negotiators will back off if he says he has a broken leg. We have dodctors and the boy is Ok, it was reported long before the was a serious bid to sign him that he recovered from the injury and ready to play.

The Chairman is not losing it!!! Pirates have 3 specialist Doctors i.e. Dr Ezekial Mathebula, Dr Thabiso Moledi and Dr. Bobby ramasia, we also have a Physiotherapist, i.e. John Williams, a Biokineticist as well i.e, Mandy Lee Solomons and last but not least we have a fitness trainer by the name Japhet Borges. Now Myeni had to go through all these guys and they confirm that he was ok. Myeni had a normal injury for soccer players not a broken leg. It was never a serious injury until cry baby Roger said he has a broken leg.

This is going to be interesting: Ntsumayelo, Manqana, and Myeni....against Manyisa, Tlou,Klate,Jali,,,,etcetera: the issue here is not about new players being quality but how these players will stand the competition: Downs signed Henyekane and Ginger Zothwane (for an example): at Arrows they were regulars but couldn't break up into the first eleven (though as the time went by they showed the signs of coming to the party): my problem I have with South African fans is that, when it suits our teams we applaud every signing and yet curse those who join teams like Downs: we must learn to understand that football just like our careers , also allows one to prosper and grow: that can be both experience wise and also in payments (services): I just hope Chiefs, Swallows and the other teams can join in acquaring the services of the 'stars' thus making it an essential gesture for our players to work hard and be reinbursed for that: It backfired at Downs, when we brought Zuma, Vilakazi, Mbesuma, Spenser,,,,,,but ke for Pirates it may be a different story....all these players are quality but some of them may not be utilised at all if lucky, under-utilised....good luck to all the players who will join their new homes,,,,and we need to sometimes support these players rather than wishing for bad luck: that is basicly jealousy....

I am no fan of Sundowns,Chiefs or Pirates for personal reasons,but if there's a team for any local black player with skills to join,it has to be the current Bucs team. I mean,who was Myeni going to play with at Chiefs,Nengomashe,Dladla,Yende,Majoro? At Downs ,it's only Pelembe and Cheeseboy.At Pirates,there's Terminator who can make a starting eleven at the 2 other teams.
