Orlando Pirates sign Sifiso Myeni, Thandani Ntshumayelo and Njabulo Manqana

Myeni, Ntshumayelo, Manqana sign for Bucs

Posted: 2012-01-31 11:56

KickOff.com can confirm that Njabulo Manqana finally put pen to paper on his Orlando Pirates contract this morning.

KickOff.com revealed three weeks ago thatBucs were linked with the Golden Arrows midfielder, but reports that he had already signed a deal with the club were premature asthe player insisted he had never signed anything.

It seems personal terms were the hold-up, with Manqana confirming that he penned a three-year deal this morning.

Also to be unveiled at a press conference at midday by Irvin Khoza are Thandanani Ntshumayelo from SuperSport United, and Sifiso Myeni from Bidvest Wits, who KickOff.com can confirm is already at the venue.

Jaaah i give up, Its clear that Bobby and his father dont give a damn about winning League or any trophy for the next coming three seasons, we did not sign any big name or best player this season, they know very well that we dont have depth, i was starting to gain weight since the PSL break and im afraid im going to loose wieght within a week when the PSL resumes, we going to be laughing stock

My bl0od is Gold and Black till Bobby dies

Laaste Khosi: 2012-01-31 12:19

I concede. I thought at least Bobby would get us Myeni. It is sad, but putting all jealousy aside I envy Pirates. They now have the best players in the PSL. Jali, Manyisa, Jele, Myeni, Benni, Klate, the list is endless.

Welcome home our super stars. As for Myeni,we needed him badly. Those who were saying we did not need him including some bucs fans have no soccer brains. We had no reliable right winger hence we ended sometimes using wrong players like Chansa,Mabhena,Mbuyane etc etc as wingers.Mabalane is no longer him self.He is finished. So people will eat their humble pie if they say hes gona warm the bench.More & more people wl flock to Hollard funeral. We mix new blood with tried & tested superstars

mzwandile: 2012-01-31 12:32

We have always embraced a professional approach of announcing our acquisitions when we have secured such and not when we are pressured to flow with trends and demands to feed media," Motaung notes on his regular column on the Chiefs website.

"The transactions are therefore far remote from the usual on-the-street-corner purchase of consumable commodities. These and many other reasons account for our sensitivity around handling the process by being careful not to hastily release any information before all the nuts and bolts are tightened," Motaung asserts.

‘Chincha Guluva' goes as far as explaining the process of signing players, saying it is a "delicate" matter.

"To most people the transfer period may look an easy run in the park but for us that have been in this business for long, it is a delicate bidding process that needs careful strategic planning and implementation," he says.

"For once we are dealing with human beings, their aspirations and future forecast whilst juxtaposing that against the business or commercial nature of our industry. Beyond dealing with talent management, we are grappling with relocations, and interruptions of normal domestic life whilst creating opportunities for the players' personal and professional growth," he says.

Motaung further argues that it is critical that the club[s] tread carefully in purchasing players.

"In addition, whilst it is common for some supporters and media to prematurely flaunt names, it must be understood that any sealed contract may have been recommended by the technical team before any outside influence… Again this is far from thinking that big-names and populist reputations make better teams and can therefore be picked like apples in an open market street corner," Motaung adds.

hehehehehehe, this is really a family business and we are told to back off by bobby and his father. ther is no substance in this statement at all....when you come play in Cape Town forget about me wasting my petrol and ticket money + for the record i will only watch Pirates and Sundowns in the stadium wena you derseve me listening your team on the radio Futsek with your fancy words

I wish I had followed my mom who support Pirate not my dad to support Kaizer Chiefs as a youngster lol, but dammit they were hot then ka di-perm. Its good for Pirates but signing players left right and center has been done before and its one thing, getting the coach to utilise all talent at his disposal is another. Kloorkop also buys a lot of talent which is yet to yield vegetables. On that note the Pirate management has to be applauded or should I say Mr Hands-On Khoza. Yerr we stuck with this small boy bobby for life. Its clear Kaizer cannot repremand his kids.

The Game: 2012-01-31 12:47

No disrespect to Pirates fans but they have to know that not everything revolves around their team: Pelembe was going to sign for Downs as we need him, and the fact that the media went on to speculate was just a business stunt: we didn't want nor need uMyeni, we have Themba Zwane, and a couple of good if not better midfielders kwi Downs...Doutie, Ngobeni have gone to other teams and yet Myeni and Ntshumayelo are the exact cut and paste: We respect other teams but when you buy and acquire other players don't think you are smart and other teams are dom, cos the truth is: Pirates is just buying, loaning and buying one and the same material:

Swona Champ!: 2012-01-31 12:47

He said he was serious and he can beat both Bucs and Sundoms offers hands down. So they named the best offer from Bucs and said they want more than that. Bobby produced Zim dollars from his brief case and said with pleasure, I can beat that. Myeni went underground after that and never want to see this Bod guy!!!!

Champ "Superbrand": 2012-01-31 12:58

Welcome to the most successful ship boys. now here you will have to work 5X more than in your former teams. Here you will be under a microscope, week in week out you will be scrutinized and criticised. Use that as a motivation and rectify mistake. You will be required to be strong and the Kaizer Hobbos will be in your case if you do well or bad. If you are given the opportunity to play, grab it with both hands. In every game you play there will be pressure, bcause you are playing for the Barcelona of Africa. Two trophies that we have this season are not enough, we need all of them trophies this season including the African championship.

RichardSi: 2012-01-31 12:58

I do not see a strategy here but a recipe for disaster. It seems that Pierats do not even know what they want. Poor coach, when he came he said he wanted to trim the squad to a manageable size...but look at what has happened, the squad has grown even bigger....You cannot just buy any Tom, Dick and Harry just because you can! Only elevan players can take the field at any given time! I cannot wait to see Pirates crying, saying the coach should have fielded so and so instead of so and so, when they get walloped.Anyway hats off to Khoza for sharing his wealth....unlike the sushi kings who ate sushi from the bodies of naked women. Oh, I have heard that he is in financial difficulties.

The point I am making is that the coach will find it hard to come with a winning combination and when that happens not only the coach will be frustrated but the fans, supporters, managment i.e. the entire Bucs community. You can have all the talented players on board individually, but making them click together is a diffrent ball game........! With our eyes ( from top management all the way down to a supporter ) firmly fixed on our 75th Anniversary Celebration a place for mediocricity and worthless achievement ( like Macufe Cup )will not be tolerated , with the ship smoothly sailing all I can do is to look up to the Captain's ( Dr Khoza ) wisdom and trust in his abilities to steer the ship towards glory , SO LET THE GAMES BEGIN ,WE WANT TO SEE THE REALITY OF SOME WEIRD WET DREAMS ABOUT A CERTAIN LADY DECLARING LOVE

So for me the bolstering of personnel is a good move and is necessary since Orlando Pirates have another added demanding task on top of everything of conquering Africa in the year 2012.

I you are smart enough to distinguish nonsense from sense you will see that Pirates have made way/space for this players hence this will add depth to the current squad hence more games will be played by Bucs this season compared to last season.

I was one of those who did not believe the Iron Duke when he said after the World cup Pirates will never be the same as he will be an add to the Technical Team. now i like it for the Pirates.

This is a very serious acquisition and shows strong vision and mission for the Big Brand, we congratulate all the other Teams and management who did their studies and justice to acquire talent and experience to their teams for their faithful supporters who support their teams.

Nevertheless we cannot blame our neighbors at Naturena since they will be making money still still bt underground as their Support will be having heart failures while we lift trophies.

To be honest why should a Football team associate itself with funeral Parlous/Insurance? Be smart enough to distinguish people.

Up The Bucs

Diehardbucs : 2012-01-31 13:52

@Frank;As a bucs as you say,if signing of super stars is begining to worry you, then why cant you just join Kaizer Chivs where signing quality players is a taboo?

CJB Ramses III: 2012-01-31 13:53

The Mighty have just made it very difficult for any time in the PSL to compete with us... so ayeye Africa ayeye...!!!

Thami : 2012-01-31 13:58

Well done to Iron Duke by signing Sifiso Myeni,it show you serious about conquring africa.

Liesbeeck: 2012-01-31 13:59

Its normal for fans to 'go wild' when some good talent is acquired but fans real happiness runs parralel with consistently good results.Downs can be used as a case study here. We saw their fans were happy when their President acquired some good talent but when results werent forthcoming all hell broke loose. We acquired some good talent in this transfer window but the real test is on the pitch. Results will determine the lifespan of fans happiness. Do we have the right Chef with great recipe for success? without good chef with great recipe, this happiness can easily evaporate. Up the Bucs. Advice: if you are sad with today`s news just sms 'khosi'

Champ "Superbrand": 2012-01-31 14:02

@Liesbeeck,

The different between us and Sunflops is that, we already have a winning combination. These new players will have to fight for position. There is no way the coach will just drop an invaluable player like Klate or Jali.

CJB Ramses III: 2012-01-31 14:03

The Mighty have just made it very difficult for any team in the PSL to compete with us...

Myeni great potential, an ambidextrous player of both feet making have the ability to play on the left or right and even as a CAM behind the striker - great stuff...

so ayeye Africa ayeye...!!!

Just sms 'khosi' and you will be fine.

lol, i just hope that finds him in good order.

wena richard, i have sacrificed for this team many times only to go all the way from ekasi to green point and newlands for a 0-0 draw. these guys come from Gauteng and take us for granted here. the best score for them would be a 1-1 or 2-2 if its not a loss of 1-0. and this transfer thing combined with motaung fancy words is enough. ANd i must tell you that, that serbian will be empty handed this season

@Thami Xulu 4rm Greytown,

Its not only up to the players and the coach but its also up to the fans. lets pack the stadium Mabhakaniya!!!!!!!! players perfom wonders when they have overwhelming support. example Equitorial guinea playing at home in front of great support.

I like this... Now Let's see who will get to play among the 67 players the silly Rats have on their books. There is no long term vision in Parktown. U wonder who will they take in @ the end of the season. Then again they're all 'moegoes' in a way, only looking to live for the moment & never looking foward to the implications of having 7 squads with all of them having contracts running to a minimum of 18-months.

& they have the audacity to say Downs & Chiefs ruin football careers... Lets wait & see who gets the last laugh from now on until Rats admit that this is their biggest fumble ever!!!

I Love Football, Don't U!!!

SMS Khosi kwi Kaizer Funeral Parlour and you will feel a lot better. For your info, we dont have 67 players and our players play more games than the cabbage eating cows of Naturena. Careers at Pirates blosom, look at Teko, Jali, Manyisa and now watch Myeni and Thandani.

Thabo: 2012-01-31 15:40

GOOD SIGNINGS... BUT NOT IDEAL FOR TEAM UNISON!!!

Even Man United, Man City, Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur, Ajax Amsterdam, Bayern Munich, Olympique Lyon, Barcelona & Real Madrid have never been this naive. I foresee trouble. I'm afraid Dr. Khoza signed a clueless theorist as a coach. He is busy buying players as if his life depends on it.

I will remind U about this in June/July when the season has ended. The Premier Soccer League is now a 2-horse race between Downs & Chiefs. If parhaps U thought U have a chance on the Nedbank Cup, better 4get it as well. Downs & Chiefs are more focused than any other club in the PSL @ the moment.
Neeksens has built a team out of individualists who played for themselves whereas Vermesovic jumped a certain stage in his coaching career. But the team posses the hunger to win more than ever b4.

As we debate, Downs has more quality than any other team in the PSL, it's just that it has been underutelised until Neeksens came on board. The same will happen @ Chiefs provided they find a perfect suiter for the coaching job in the new season.

On the contrary, Ivan Khoza has created problem-hen, of which I doubt he will be able fix when its eggs hatch. It's heading to a situation Downs had when they snatched every player they could get their claws on. U better wake-up & smell the coffee. Among all the players currently with Pirates, who would be content with sitting in the stands whilst U know U could be getting game time elsewhere? Why do U think Steven Pinaar contemplates leaving Tottenham for a less fancier club like Queens Park Rangers or going back to Everton where he set the EPL alight?

This is not written out of "JealousY" as others might choose to inteprete... I'm stating facts as they are because Downs' supporters will attest to this statement.

Vat_Alles@khosi.com: 2012-01-31 15:43

football_fan : 2012-01-31 15:51

I think pirates is buying 2 many players,I wonder how many players they have now.this is just too much,I hope its worth it

coffart: 2012-01-31 15:51

Wow...I see danger in the making for Sifiso. If he joined Chiefs his career was gonna blossom but joining bucs what a disaster. Hahahahaha....if it was Downs buying all these players media was gonna say Motsepe doesn't know what he wants but as for Bucs they reported as being on the right track. WTF...biased SA reporting cos the fact come end of the season most of these players will want out. Midfielders comprises of Andile, Mark, Rudolph, Oupa, Sifiso, Isaac, Luis, Thandani, Danny, Tlou, Boubacar, etc...to name a few and they claim that by having these talents in their squad they are not killing SA soccer but only preparing to conquer Africa.

zimi: 2012-02-01 13:14

Yeah some times Khoza do the right decisions, you know with this crop its is up to the coach to use the material correctly. Even when we last sign abo Doute Sameg the likes of Bester to mention the few despite the fact that they are all not with us they are quality, for me it is the coach who failed to utilize them. The same will apply to the new players where you find that they coach choose to play u Mabena ahead of them, now that he did not see them play for Pirates Mr Leal must be unique and not depend on Rud Krol's playing style and and those players that were used by him. He must be the real coach and apply his knowledge, He must not do a copy and paste method, If he is doing that all these new signing would not play or get game time, this our money that bought them they must work for it. We must ge the value for our money.
