Club Brugge forward Joseph Akpala is discussing with the management of the West Flanders side regarding a contract extension.
The 25-year-old ex-Bendel Insurance ace has scored 6 goals in 7 starts for the Jupiler League outfit.
Akpala said: "I have a contract here and Until further notice, I will stick with Club Brugge. They want to extend my contract for two years, but the first negotiations came to nothing. If they reach an agreement with my manager, I'd stay.”
The Nigeria international has started only 7 games after 20 games played in the Championship.
"I always try to do my best when I'm on the field. It was a long time since I got so much playing time and then you see it I still can score. It's not my decision whether I stay or not. The board needs to decide,” Akpala added.
With the transfer window still open, Levante, Mallorca, clubs in Germany and Turkey are understood to be circling around Akpala.
