Kalu Uche rejoins Espanyol

Posted: 2012-01-31 10:12

Super Eagles forward Kalu Uche, on Monday, returned to the Spanish topflight after rejoining RCD Espanyol for the remainder of the season and up until June 2013.

The Nigeria international, who also holds a Spanish passport, arrives as a free agent after the demise of Swiss Neuchatel Xamax.

Uche played at Espanyol during the 2000/01 season before being traded to Polish side Wisla Krakow where he stayed for three seasons before signing for Bordeaux.

He returned the following season but left that same year to join Almeria, where he remained until last year, when the Andalusian outfit were relegated.

Espanyol are currently placed 5th in the Spanish Primera Liga with 31 points from 20 matches.

Uche, who passed his routine medical on Monday noon, will be unveiled on Tuesday at the club's press room located at the RCDE Stadium.
