Patrick Phungwayo says he is ready to leave Bidvest Wits, but the club will not let him go.

The player confirms interest in his services from Orlando Pirates and SuperSport United, but Wits coach Roger de Sa insisted earlier on today that the player is staying.

Phungwayo responds: "No, I didn't decide to stay. They [Wits] decided for me that I'm staying … it is not my decision. At the end of the day it is their decision, right?"

The 24-year-old confirms Pirates and SuperSport were the two teams vying for his services.

"It is Pirates and SuperSport who are interested, but the team doesn't want to sell me," he opens up to KickOff.com.

Nonetheless, Phungwayo is still holding out for a move before the January transfer window closes at 5pm on Tuesday.

"Wits don't want to let me go at this stage of the season, but it is football and tomorrow they may decide to let me go … I prefer to challenge myself now and tomorrow is still a day so I haven't given up [on leaving Wits]," Phungwayo concludes.

Ur left with 6mnths of ur contract u can sign a pre contract with a team of ur choice then it will be easy for wits to let u go.I would love to have u at the Galaxy of Champs than ur teammate Myeni.Rouben cloete need a strong competitor like u!Ur the best left back in psl so far.

You were not poached by Sundowns so Wits is holding out on as leverage unilt Downs goes for you and they can inflate your price, even ko bo Pirates and SSU.

That said, don't burn your bridges with sarcastic comments like "its their decision right?". KickOff will not be there when you are clubless. Focus on your and maybe, just maybe, you might replace Cowte or Langerman at the end of the season.

So the other team did not bid for you. They must still have faith in Richie Rich.

I don't think Pirates need to sign him now,we can tie him on a pre-contract.our left back is not in crisis.we can still compete with what we have.

I don't think we need a payer like u @ Pirates, u don't have pace and u are not tall not saying u need to be tall but as a charector that I think we need at this time. yes u are talented but as left wing I don't thing so.

I think Phungwayo wil b much better dan havin n injured Myeni @ Bucs.It wont make sense 2 buy ingulube esakeni,Myeni has a broken leg n can only start playin afta 2-3 months which is a waste.Khoza must rather get Phungwayo insted.
Myeni wont liv Wits this time bt in June if he recovers.

When you leave the club don't go to Pirates cause they only want you now but after a year(next January window), e.i. They swap/loan you to other clubs. Supersport united is the right move.

We desperately need Myeni.It wl be very unfortunately if we dont get him.Those who say we dont need him have no soccer brains & they must just shut their calabashes.We dont have a reliable right winger.Mabalane is no longer himself,he is finished.Even though he is injured we know what he has when he is fit.He is just injured like any other player.He did not brake a leg.We need both of them with Phungwayo.
