Wits: Myeni still deciding

Posted: 2012-01-30 13:34

Bidvest Wits midfielder Sifiso Myeni is still mulling over his options with the transfer deadline looming.

Mamelodi Sundowns, Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs are all in the race to sign Myeni.

Weekend reports claimed Pirates may have won the battle for his signature, but Wits coach Roger de Sa says the 23-year-old has still not made up his mind.

"Myeni is still deciding," confirms De Sa, adding that "[Patrick] Phungwayo is going nowhere."

Myeni, who was last week described as "confused" by a Wits official, has until tomorrow to make up his mind.

Which team do YOU think Myeni should join? Have your say on www.facebook.com/kickoffmagazine!

Orlando Pirates welcomes you with open arms Myeni

obri : 2012-01-30 13:56

Myeni should read from the same book as Doutie, Mabalane. They are equaly the same players in terms of play and he might have a very short career before looking for a team to give him game time, try Ajax sfiso!! Up the birds.

Breaking News: Chiefs Get Their "BIG FISH"

Amakhosi have pulled the rug under Orlando Pirates & Mamelodi Sundowns' feet following the swoop signing of Wits University midfield maestro Sifiso Myeni. Although mum about the acquisition, Chiefs are expected to parade him alongside Zimbabwean international striker Mohammed Abbas and two other "supposedly" deadly attacking midfielders on Tuesday at the Chiefs Village in Naturena.
Myeni has been the topic of the mid-season transfer window after disclosing his wish to exit the Students' class.
It had been reported that Sundowns first made a bid for the talented midfield genius, which Wits accepted, but personal terms negotiations with the player hit a brick wall.
Pirates joined the race upon hearing of the situation, but only to learn that their bid was not enticing enough to convince Wits to let Myeni go although personal terms between the player and Pirates were seemingly ironed out.
Chiefs appeared the latter, opting to go for the kill after observing the state of affairs surrounding the player. Myeni is now tied to Chiefs for 3 and half years, keeping him at the Naturena based outfit until June, 2015.- Blinksports

letsholonyana : 2012-01-30 14:05

Money? Game time? Money? Game time? tik tok tik tok tik tok...... Wish you could go to a club that wont stand in your way when the time comes for you to go overseas, and we all know which club its that.

floyd: 2012-01-30 14:06

The current transfer window has definately been the least exciting for reporters. Except for the swap deal between the Pretoria teams and the imminent transfer of Myeni there is not much to write home about.

As much as I hate Chiefs, I think our soccer would have been more exciting if they were also involved in big deals.

KING?: 2012-01-30 14:08

I wonder why must a deal be closed by Jessica because she is not experienced?

The article by Kaizer Snr was breath of fresh air. He told Chiefs fans to go to hell in a diplomatic way and the hobos are stil smilling.

TP : 2012-01-30 14:10

1.If Myeni signs for Sundowns it will be about Money.
2.If he goes to Pirates it will be about the believe of playing for a good team & winning trophies, this based on present results.
3.If he signs for Chiefs it will be about a tilting opportunity of getting a game time.

In conclusion I don't see him being a regular at Sundowns & Pirates.

The problem at Chiefs is VV,if he stays chances are he would keep him on the bench like Kegan & Tefu.Top players shouldn't struggle for playing time.
Question is why buy good players & bench them?

If he goes to Chiefs it will be after the family team convinces him that they are building for future with a new coach & hopefully that coach will have rubber stamped this move.

The Phefeni Boy: 2012-01-30 14:12

@King?...You are welcoming the player to your mighty Orlando Pirates team but you are already calling him names(Ngovolo)..thats sounds like a person with a bipolar disorder...Aren't you suppose to be giving a proper footballer,s nickname like the rest of the legennd who have played and represented your team well in the past?

petme : 2012-01-30 14:12

sipjoe: 2012-01-30 14:13

som coments made by some of the fans are just plain stupid,is like they cannot read or understand the content of the statement made by mr motaung,mr motaung has never said anything about having or not having money to compete with khoza.as a matter of fact there is no comparison,mr motaung is rich fair and square, but unlike other noname brands he knows how well to spend his money,so chill and leave him alone please, chiefs can affod any player they want, but we sign players not brands to boost our ego.i ,,,,,said ,,,,it khosi forever ,,,amen.

Totalfootball : 2012-01-30 14:19

If he wants instant success both in the playing field and for his personal life he should join Pirates.I don't think he will really struggle to break in to the first team.there is a big chance for him to win an African Star when he play for Pirates.
If he only wants money for now,he can join Sundowns because they are still building and it might take them few years to start winning things.and again at Downs he may struggle to be in the first team as the coach is under pressure to win things leading to fielding establish players as their supporters are by far the most ruthless when its come firing coaches.
As for Chiefs,he must be prepared for a big salary cut compare to Downs and Bucs,he must be prepared for a trophy drought,he must be prepared for abuse by children of family business and he should be ready to be one of the first crop of players to suffer financial bankruptcy from a falling giant.
But at Chiefs he is sure of regular game time without competition but remember lack of enough competition lead to complacency in life.
All in all the choice is yours!

tebotouch : 2012-01-30 14:21

this aligetor i dnt knw wat is hard 4 him here...its plain simple
pirates... Wen u wanna win trophies n b successful in yo life.

Keizer chiefs ...when u wanna sell insurance @ nkandla n ulundi @ kzn...or wen u wanna b like thabo mooki hahahahahahahahha.

Kaizer Snr made it clear that, they are bringing more merchandise from Zimbabwe and they cannot afford any local products.

This time on his return from Zimbabwe, Bobbie Motaung also revealed 15 woman(4 grannies, 6 young ladies and 5 middle age) to be employed at Chiefs village @ R1250.00 PM and they will be staying in Thokoza skwata camp transported by the former player Thabo Mooki.

This Mazinyo.Q injured boy thinks he is the best thing ever to happen in Mzansi football fraternity. It might be a risk to buy an injured player who wants a gurranteed place in the starting line up and yet he is injured.

KaMashobana: 2012-01-30 14:28

If i were him , i would go to K Thieves, there he is garanteed of the 1st 11. At the other two teams, he might not even play for the remainder of the season but get a lot of money .

Wandile : 2012-01-30 14:28

Tiyani you are now back in your senses after being moered by Tivani the Musangwe champ. I like the way you packed the teams chasing Myeni's signature: 1.Mamelodi Sundowns, 2.Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs.

Indeed players choose which team to join in that order. Tell me Tiyani, do you still hold the view that Chiefs is going to win the league like you said last on eShibobo?

Which players either than their lethal strike force of Qubule and Sithole do you think will play a pivotal role in them winning the league?

YELO SECHABA ubtil ALL soccer journalists get back into their senses like Tiyani ka Mabasa.

TP : 2012-01-30 14:29

Just to add on my earlier comment:

The prospect of moving to an overseas team will definitely be a persuasive factor to join Chiefs as Pirates don't sell overseas & this fact has been corroborated by Bucs supporters.

On the other hand Sundowns also don't sell overseas as it was also corroborated that Motsepe pays overseas salary & he will ask nothing less for his players.

The problem with a family team is when you dissect Mr Kaizer Motaung controversial statement:
He says they got an eye for their players & don't just buy.To me it seems he feels he knows Chiefs material from distance. He also mentioned how they empower players & a lot of other things that for me were not related to moving players to Chiefs.

That statement itself can be of detriment to the decision that Myeni will make.

Boboa: 2012-01-30 14:29

Well come to chiefs. on your way to europe.like musona, mbesuma and others

Rudzani: 2012-01-30 14:32

@ TP before you open your cake and pap hole you must know your soccer, i wont be surprised if you are rat or a flop how can VV bench myeni when he has lazy spoiled brats like Nale, yende e.t.c. VV will remain a good coach and one of the best for me ncoz of his aproach and nonesense discipline. whether he stays or leave i still amintain kaizer chiefs fc must review their selling and buying of players policy. VV has give evryone at chiefs a chance and all of them if not most thank him by a plate full of ............. we just dont have the right players with the right attitude to be @ naturena. people are still talking about the coaches future while we know the problem is with the management who are money obssessed. they buy cheap and sell expensive. they even play some of their games in Peter Mokaba for money. so what ? VV can go back to serbia with his head held high bcoz in his first season he had world stars according to you nhleko, torrealba, kaizer snr, young musona, unkwon puch, every weak defence in nehayo, sweswe, isaacs, rooi and tau, but he managed to get the best out of these cows and made some of them one of the best players. musona, punch and nehayo moved on when the coach has got his team. so he was supposed to rebuild again with what material? majoro still wet behind the ears, parker still to adjust back to regular football he has never played regularly in 3 years. to all amkhosi amahle why do we have to face reality and fight the real point here our management are taking us for a ride while we are busy fighting the coach for no reason they are enjoying our hard earned money..........phew

Sfiso is a professional player who is not scared of competition hence the move to the big 3.

At Pirates or Sundowns, its going to be difficult to break immediately into the starting 11 but this boy is super talented, he will fit like glove at Pirates. This is one player who is not scared to take responsibility.

At Chiefs, this would mean Shabba must sit on the bench of be switched to the right and we all know Shabba paraplegic problems. Miyeni is a natural middle left who is far better than Shabba.

Champ Toad: 2012-01-30 16:03

When a person takes too long to make a decision that usually implies that he doesn’t really know what he wants. There’s nothing wrong with making an informed decision but that does not mean you should spend days and days pondering on the decision. People like that cannot be trusted and they usually make the wrong decisions anyway.
Back to the topic.

Reasons why Myeni should join Kaizer Chiefs:
1.He will play for one of the most supported teams in the country
2.He will walk into the starting lineup.
3.If he does very well Chiefs will not hesitate to release him to a European team should an offer arise
4.He will join a team that keeps their squad very manageable in terms of numbers. Therefore should he be good (not exceptionally good to be sold to a European team) he will spend a lot of time in the limelight and playing consistently without being thrown out in the wilderness.

Reasons why Myeni should join Orlando Pirates FC:
1.He will play for one of the most supported teams in the country
2.He will be joining a team that has recently enjoined unprecedented amounts of success. The team spirit is sky high and the winning mentality is engraved on these players and can have positive spinoffs for a talented lad like him.
3.He will be joining a team with lots of talented players. The competition for places is very tough but rewarding.
4.He will play for a very ambitious team that is renowned for making promising players household names with superstar status.

Reasons why Myeni should join Mamelodi Sundowns FC:
1.He will be playing for one of the bigger team in the country
2.He will potentially earn a lot of money
3.He will be joining a team with lots of talented players. The competition for places is very tough but rewarding.
4.He will play for a very ambitious team

Ridzani!

I wrote a bible like the one u wrote for me but it didn't go through.

I don't have the energy to argue this case with someone who thinks he knows better,so I will be short.

How do you see a good coach?By results, ability look for talent where there is none/limited budget, the style of play even if there is no results coming you can tell if the coach is having a plan.

After 3 years at Chiefs which player can VV proudly say he made him or gave him a chance?None

Good coaches command respect even if when they have left u will hear players bowing to them.

Or maybe the certain race(useless) is getting more while the other race(talented) is getting less. Is Wits paying according of what you eats( eg uphuthu u get less, pasta and mince you get more). Just asking.
Is it true that shabba has signed a pre-contracts with palace???

Mamelodi Sundowns spokesperson Kabelo Mosito has shot down speculations that the log leaders are persuing the services of BIDVest Wits midfielder Sifiso Myeni, saying that the club will not be making anymore last minute signings in the close of the transfer window.

“We are busy with our preparations for the remainder of the season, and we all know that the entire Sundowns squad is currently camping in Polokwane, where the coach is oiling his machine to perfection ahead of the league resumption” said Kabelo Mosito.
