Aluko scores in Rangers win

Posted: 2012-01-30 11:55

Nigeria's Sone Aluko was among the goal scorers as Rangers moved to within a point of Celtic at the top of the Clydesdale Bank Scottish Premier League with a convincing 4-0 win against Hibernian - without the help of top goal scorer Nikica Jelavic.

Jelavic missed the clash at Ibrox through illness but skipper Steven Davis netted a double and David Healy and Aluko grabbed a goal apiece against 10-man Hibs.

With rivals Celtic in Scottish Communites League Cup action this weekend, the victory allowed Rangers to give their title hopes a much-needed boost.
