Komphela: No need for new signings

Free State Stars coach Steve Komphela has decided against roping in new signings during the January transfer window, insisting that he is satisfied with his current crop of players.
While other coaches have been busy making a last minute swoop on the transfer market before the transfer window is shut at the end of the month, Komphela tells KickOff.com that he is more concerned with honing the skills of his charges ahead of the second half of the season.
"No we will not be making any signings. I feel that my team is well balanced in all departments," says Komphela.
"You must also remember that this year we have already signed players that include three from Togo (Sadate Ouro Okoriko, Saname Wome and Morou Zakari) and two from Nigeria (Daniel Agbagwu and Soriola Gege).
"These players and others that we brought in have made us a strong team so there is no need to tamper with the kind of understanding that these players have developed between each other," adds Komphela.
The former Platinum Stars coach is satisfied with the progress his players have shown since the team regrouped for training after the festive holidays.
"Most of our training has been focusing on the physical aspect of the game.
"The players must be fit because the second half of the season is likely to be more challenging," says Komphela.
Stars occupy the sixth spot on the log with 24 points from 15 matches.
They will be away when they clash with SuperSport United on 15 February when the League matches resume.
