Golden Arrows have released five players including Namibian goalkeeper Virgil Vries just six months after he joined the club from his homeland club Eleven Arrows.
Vries had a blunder infested short stay at the club which has led to him being shown the door while two other keepers Andre Petim and Stephan Loboue have been signed.
Also released by Arrows – who have been busy during the January transfer window - are defenders S'fiso Hlanti, Mlungiseni Masinga and Msawakhe Sikhosana along with midfielder Itumeleng Duiker.
All the released players were not in coach Muhsin Ertugral's plans.
"These players have been released because they were not in the coach's plans going forward. Vries has his clearance but I think he is still looking for a club," confirms Vusumuzi Vilakazi, the club spokesman.
Besides Loboue and Petim Arrows have also brought in Siphelele Mthembu, Clifford Ngobeni, Anthony Mawejje and Sibusiso Hadebe during the January transfer window.
