Heartland coach hits out at Nigerian refs

Posted: 2012-01-26 20:29

Heartland coach Ludewijk de Kruif has launched a withering blast at Nigerian referees, claiming that their actions do not allow away teams to win.

Heartland lost 1-0 to Sunshine Stars on Wednesday on the back of a heavily disputable penalty that left the Dutchman fuming.

"In Nigeria, the home team always wins and the away team always loses. The referees do not help the game," De Kruif said. "With this kind of officiating, the football cannot improve."

Heartland should have had a penalty when a Sunshine Stars player handled in the box, but the referee dismissed their appeal.

However, when Heartland's Emmanuel Olowo and Sunshine Stars' Dele Olorundare tangled innocuously in the box, referee Sylvester Okobi pointed to the spot, to the dismay of the Heartland side.

Godfrey Oboabuna duly put away the spot kick to hand Sunshine Stars the victory.

Ludewijk de Kruif, it is true, the highest result to away team is draw. Check the features and result.

Coach that's the power of brown envelope. We also have specialists also here in sa. Whilst other teams are signing playas, this other team is busy renewing contracts with referees. The overated nyawana has failed trials at crystal palace. If crystal wanted him, he surely would have signed a per-contract as it was within his rights to do so. The only option he has is extend with zebra since he won't fit at sundowns or maybe he can join the new old age home fc aka sonono fc. I remain downs till cowsa replace that gap with gold

LOVE OF MONEY IN ALL ASPECT OF NIGERIANS SOCIETY IS WHAT WE ARE SEEING. NO REPUTATION AS FAR AS AN AVERAGE NIGERIAN IS CONCERN. IT IS IN NIGERIA THAT WE RESPECT EVEN AN ARMED ROBBER AND HONOR HIM AS LONG AS HE HAS MONEY. EVEN OUR ELECTED LEADERS WHO HAS NOTHING BEFORE ELECTED AND AFTER 6 MONTH HE HAS A MANSION WHAT OVER 100 MILLION DOLLARS WITH FLEETS OF CARS AND INSTEAD OF NIGERIANS TO QUESTION IS WEALTH, WE HONOR AND PRAISE FOR BEING A GOOD THIEF.

HOW MANY TIMES HAVE YOU SEEN NIGERIAN REFEREE IN WORLD CUP OR CAF COMPETITION OFFICIATING BUT THE LIKE OF TOGO, IVORY COAST AND EVEN BENIN MAKE SUCH IMPACT AND YET IT MEANS NOTHING TO US. NO DIGNITY AND HONOR. IT IS A SHAME.
