Manchester City are considering taking legal action against the club’s frozen-out striker Carlos Tevez over the issue of the player’s price tag, which has nose-dived in recent months.
According to The Mirror, the want-away Argentinian striker may have legal proceedings brought against him by the club after seeing his value plummet in recent months after going on strike
The club value the Argentinian international at around the £25-million mark, but have found it difficult to get anything close to their valuation from the parties reportedly interested, which include AC Milan, Inter and Paris Saint-Germain.
Brazilian club Corinthians pulled out of a proposed £37-million deal in the dying embers of the summer transfer window over the issue of finances, and the club were reportedly offered a significantly decreased offer of £20m by AC Milan in the current transfer window.
It has since been revealed that Tevez has lost up to £9.3-million in wages, fines and bonuses since going on strike at the club in November, and returning to his native country.
Any civil case brought against Tevez is likely to involve recouping the cost in compensation of the player’s valuation last summer – with a figure of £13-million mooted.
