Nigeria Under-23 striker Daniel Uchechi will join Aberdeen on loan until the end of the season after trials this week.

Aberdeen have the option of making the deal permanent for a fee of around $200 000 at the end of the season.

The 22-year-old signs from Dender FC in Nigeria.

"He will join them on loan until the end of the season, initially until the end of the season, but we are still sorting out the final details," Adedapo Kujore-Olowu, who represents the player, told KickOffNigeria.com.

Uchechi began his career with Charlton Athletic and was also on the books of West Ham but was most recently on loan to Sheffield Wednesday.

He left Upton Park for Dender in his homeland but was farmed out to Leicester City then the Owls.

He has represented Nigeria at Under-20 and Under-23 level, most recently as part of Austin Eguavoen's squad which failed to qualify for the this summer's Olympic Games.
