The Nigeria Football Federation challenges court ruling

NFF appeals court ruling

Posted: 2012-01-26 07:53

The Nigeria Football Federation on Wednesday went to the Court of Appeal in Abuja to challenge a Federal High Court declaration that both the NFF and NPL were not properly incorporated and therefore not known to the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

The Federal High Court pronouncement was made on Friday, 20th January, 2012 as the Judge Donatus Okorowo delivered judgement in a case brought by former chairman of Nigeria Referees Association, Dr. Sam Sam Jaja over his disqualification from the NPL elections of May 8, 2010.

On Wednesday, the NFF filed a motion-on-notice for stay-of-execution of the High Court’s judgement at the same High Court, while the body filed a Notice of Appeal at the Court of Appeal, Abuja.

The Nigeria Football Federation is seeking "An Order staying and/or suspending the execution, further execution and or compliance with all or any of the Orders in the judgment of the Honourable Justice of this Honourable Court delivered on the 20th January 2012 pending hearing and determination of the Appeal against the judgment filed on the 25th day of January, 2012 and now pending before the Court of Appeal in Abuja."

The motion will be heard on February 2.

Why can't the NFF board simply resign for the sake of the future of the game?

When are we as a people going to learn to put national interest above personal and parochial interests?

Since this board was sworn in our football has known no peace, our league is comatose, our players and coaches have lost their touch!
FIFA ban looms! We have never had it so bad as it is today.

It is obvious that those fighting the board have personal vendatta against the board. The injustices of the NFF against these persons are well documented. The board have turned the statutes of FIFA upside down. They have given football statutes a 'political PDP' colouration!

Our football is doomed as long as this board remains. Many more court cases are in the offing. The board should do the honorable thing by resigning enmass to save our football.

NFF FOLLOW THE COUNSEL YOU GAVE SIASIA: RESIGN HONORABLY. GO HOME, EQUIP YOURSELVES AND WHO KNOWS, YOU WILL BE GIVEN ANOTHER OPPORTUNITY TO SERVE IN THE FUTURE!

Angola's 'miraculous' success at getting FIFA to change nationality of a player within one week is a clear indictment of the mediocrity of our NFF.

The way Victor Moses and Ameobi's nationality switch dragged on for almost a year made me think it is normal for the process to drag for that long. I was jolted when the same process was completed within a week by Angolan FA!

This NFF board should resign honorabl for our football to recover and get to the promised land.

MAIGARI AND CO RESIGN. GO HOME AND LEARN THE ROPES OF FOOTBALL MANAGEMENT AND MAYBE IN THE FUTURE YOU WILL BE GIVEN THE OPPORTUNITY TO SERVE. RESIGN NOW!

Everyone in this forum knows that, the Union of two gases, hydrogen and oxygen produces water and in the vegetable kingdom, seed and soil combined produce a plant and also in the animal kingdom the unification of male and female cells result in a new being.

We the Super Eagles fans have tried any thing human posible to Support this NFF but we are unable to see a water from hydrogen and oxygen neither a plant from seed and soil. Then what's next my fellow Nigerians?

Maigary & Co have broken the eight commandment and twisted the other two in the history of Nigerian Football and they dont even need to be told to resign,if they were human and this is the time to start another creation by planting a new seed in the soil for a new plant.

NFF,Pls save our football now,do the right thing and resign, dont hang on until the bitter end.Mr Green and Co are day to day embarrassment to the nation we have been living with and they should resign with Immediate effect, lets move on.

If they don't want to resign, they will be pushed out. When FIFA ban looms, somebody will, for sure, be sacrificed to escape it, and it will be somebody in the Glasshouse. If I were Maigari and Co, I would do the honourable thing, before what happened to my boss and predecessor happens to me - for the interest of Nigerian football!
