Free State Stars have taken Mpho Makola and Mxolisi Gumede off their transfer list, and Thanda Royal Zulu have signed Bafo Biyela.

Makola and Gumede had been transfer-listed two weeks ago, along with three other players, Thamane Motaung, Madoda Motha and Tebelo Mofokeng.

Stars have handed Mofokeng his clearance and he is now a free agent, while Motaung has gone out to sister club Carara Kicks, who play in the First Division.

Motha is already on loan at First Division club Sivutsa Stars.

Thanda Royal Zulu sign Biyela

Thanda Royal Zulu have snapped up Bafo Biyela in a deal that sees the midfield strongman reunite with former coach Neil Tovey.

Biyela has signed up to the end of the season as one of four January window signings that have been made by Thanda, which also include Vusiwe Masondo, Kenyan Dennis Omino and Alastair Wallis, who joins on loan from AmaZulu.

All four players have signed on deals running up to the end of the season.

Leopards release players

Black Leopards have cut ties with Malawian striker Grant Lungu while releasing defender Simphiwe Vezi to First Division club Blackburn Rovers.

Leopards have also loaned out Jabu Nkosi to Sivutsa Stars.

The club are still in the hunt for a striker and another defender as they seek to reinforce their squad ahead of the start of second round of fixtures.

Swallows to loan out Leonard

Moroka Swallows striker Auguston Leonard is due to go out on loan to Bloemfontein Celtic with the deal to be completed within the next couple of days.

Leonard has made just a single substitute appearance this season, which came in the last game before the break, against Maritzburg United.

Lovemore Moyo
