Anele Ngcongca's agent admits the Bafana Bafana right back is hoping for a move to Spain or England when he eventually leaves Belgian side Racing Genk.
Ngcongca was linked with a switch to Ukrainian side Dnipro recently having previously told KickOff.com he wants to leave Genk. But agent Paschalis Tountouris reveals that despite interest from several clubs, he does not expect any transfer to happen until the end of the season.
"There is interest from several clubs but we are not proceeding at the moment. I believe for Anele, January is not the time to make a change," he tells KickOff.com.
"I believe the right moment for him to move will be in the summer but we are very careful about the country that he goes to. Our priorities are countries like England and Spain, where we believe it will suit his game but if a big offer comes from another country then it's not easy to say no. What we want to do is be able to find a club where he will be able to settle quickly."
Ngcongca played a crucial part as Genk won the title for the first time in nearly a decade last year, playing more than 60 matches. His current contract expires in 2015 and Tountouris admits he is happy for the defender to stay in Belgium until the end of the season.
"We just have to wait and see what transpires – if an offer comes then we will consider it," he says.
"But right now, for example, the clubs in England will only really consider players from the local league because of the time it can take to settle in to a new country so it's best to wait."
