Gyan ready and fit to go

Asamoah Gyan says he is in perfect shape for the Africa Cup of Nations and ready to shoulder Ghana's goal scoring burden.

The striker who is central to Ghana's plans has made a quick recovery from a hamstring injury that threatened his participation in the competition and is now keen on firing Ghana to glory.

"I am fit and ready," he told KickOffGhana.com. "As you know I played last week and scored so it’s a very good sign.

Like the rest of the team I am really looking forward to the first game. We want the best possible start because for a competition like this it is very important."

Gyan is appearing at his third Cup of Nations and will be looking to his four goals for Ghana in the competition to date.
