Zothwane joins Celtic

Football fans will be pleased to hear that Bloemfontein Celtic have completed the signing of Papi Zothwane from Mamelodi Sundowns.

Zothwane has signed a six-month contract with Siwelele, with an option to renew at the end of the season.

Celtic offered Zothwane a life-line early this year, after the player SMSed Downs coach Johan Neeskens saying he wanted out of the club in mid-December.

"It's a done deal," Siwelele technical director Mich d'Avray confirms. "Zothwane is now a Celtic player."

Zothwane is expected to start training with Celtic on Monday.

D reason he didn't join Thieves FC is dat he had to take a salary cut frm what he was getting from Cowrros,Family bizness is well known 4 being stingy when it comes to paying players, downs offered big money, so yah it was a gud decision, he would have had nothing as we speak.

Sundowns alwyz critised by paying gud salary 2 dier plyrz.. Dey col us by all sorts of words jst bcz our president buy qaulity.. Dey cnt compliments us evn a single moment, while we produced talented young plyrz like Shongwe, Zwane, Matlatsi, Xulu, Ngubani, Mampuru, Letlabika & de guyz we sold 2 Atlentico Madrid... And we resurrected dead woods plyers like Godfrey Sapula, Gift Leremi( May hs soul RIP) Teko, Cheeseman yet we get critics intead of compliments...

@ Mtho4Downz - I think you are raising a good point about why Sundowns are not getting any credit for the good they have done. But then again, you need to start selling ice to eskimos! Remember not all us intelligent and also not all of would be naive.

Unfortunately, also on the flipside is that if one considers most of the so-called small teams, one would hardly find a situation where a 'star' comes from another team to fade at his new one. Look at cases of Mjempu and Doutie who came from Ajax, where they were commanding regular positions, to be bench-warmers at Pirates. At one point Sundowns had something like six right-wingers. That makes it easier for people to say things like had Josta Dladla stayed at Downs he would have been finished! Not that I am so myself. I am just saying, in your argument, you may need to consider other things as you raise your.

As for the article, I don't think it is saying much for some of the guys to go through the writer or the editor. Especially, against the backdrop that 'Sundowns is being painted bad'.
