Ghana vice president John Mahama has urged the Black Stars to take every game at the Nations Cup as a 'World Cup final'.
Mahama flew over to Franceville on Sunday to meet the team and urge them to end Ghana's 30 year wait for the title.
He told the team the entire country is backing them, but has warned the wins will not come easy.
“I will like you take every match like a World Cup final and play your best,” Mahama told the players.
“Every country came to this tournament on merit so you should avoid complacency and listen to your technical team.
“You have our support and we will do our best for you to bring us the trophy.”
Ghana open their campaign against Botswana on Tuesday.
