Daylon Claasen has not been approached by QPR and Glasgow Celtic

No offer for Claasen yet

Daylon Claasen's agent says he has yet to receive an approach for the South African midfielder despite reports of interest from QPR and Glasgow Celtic.

The 21-year-old who plays for Belgian side FC Lierse was linked with a switch to the UK on Friday after some impressive displays this season. But having told KickOff.com this week that Claasen will not move in the January transfer window, agent Ivan Modia confirms there have only been enquiries at this stage and hinted Claasen may also have problems securing a work permit in the UK.

"I know that clubs are interested in him but we've not had any firm contact from anyone," he says.

"If anyone in the United Kingdom wants to bid for Claasen then they would need to move quickly because of the work permit situation. There's only 10 days left until the window shuts and it would be too tight to organise everything properly. If the whole thing was started today then there may be time but any later will be difficult."

The former Ajax Amsterdam player only has two international caps and would require special dispensation to move to a British club. Modia also represents Claasen's Bafana Bafana team-mate Steven Pienaar but says that QPR have not yet tabled a new bid for the Spurs midfielder.

"We've heard nothing else on Steven – I have been expecting something this week but we are still waiting," he says.
