Court declares NFF, NPL illegal

Posted: 2012-01-21 13:18

Nigerian football was once again thrown into uncertainty when a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja declared both the NFF and the NPL illegal.

Sam Sam Jaja, a former member of the NFA executive committee, instituted the suit to challenge his exclusion from the NPL elections which was won by Davidson Owumi, and which eventually brought in Rumson Baribote as chairman of the league body.

As part of his ruling, Justice Donatus Okubuwa declared that the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and the Nigeria Premier League (NPL) are illegal and the bodies recognized by Nigerian law are the Nigerian Football Association (NFA) and the Nigerian Football League (NFL).

"The court said there was no justifiable reason why I was excluded from that election," Jaja said.

People were wondering why Super Eagles is no longer Super, but thats how it is when you steal and take what does not belong to you.God always pay back with a failure and thats the problem Super Eagles has been having,Not Siasia,John uboh or Eguaveon.I hope Davidson Owumi will take over what belongs to him in order for Eagles to be Super again.

any one with common sense should know that our football is dead. We didnt need a court to tell us that the NFF and our domestic league is a JOKE.
MLS is now world recognized and they started (the second time) like yesterday and they have already surpassed us.
Very soon, WPS (U.S women league) will have more power than Nigerian football. SAD

uzochi: 2012-01-21 17:10

our country is a joke. breaks my heart. no planning, no legitimate system and organization.

There is this saying, that 'pikin wey say im mama no go sleep, no go sleep'. This is the story of an unjust NFF!

Whatever is born of injustice can never receive good favour from justice. When Maigari and his cast were busy buying their way into the glasshouse at the expense of better suited administrators, they were full of impunity. They felt invincible!

Having manipulated their way into office, they settled down to witch hunting perceived enemies who were not members of their cabal of mediocre administrators. First, they worked assidiously to remove Davidson Owumi as NPL chairman. They turned the statutes upside down to achieve their aim of dominating our football with mediocre administrators with civil servant mentality!

This NFF does not deserve any sympathy. It is so unfortunate that we have these set of administrators running our football. Administrators who openly pull down our players. Calling them names. Administrators who say that Super Eagles market value as a brand is worthless. Visionless and inept!

I POSTED ON THIS FORUM A FEW DAYS BACK THAT THOUGH CHANGE MAY SEEM FARFETCHED BUT THAT IT WILL INEVITABLY VISIT THE GLASSHOUSE. THAT CHANGE HAS SUDDDENLY COME!

MAY GOD DELIVERE OUR FOOTBALL FROM THESE UNJUST ADMINISTRATORS WHOSE SOLE PURPOSE OF BEING IN FOOTBALL IS PERCUNIARY! GO MAIGARI, GO OOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!

Mega Million: 2012-01-21 17:31

I meant"I hope Davidson Owumi will leave what does not belong to him in order for NFA to be Super again"For Maigari and Co,Time shall tell.

@Amata Plus,You Mentioned the removal of Owumi by the evil NFF and i was with him but I just changed my mind on Owumi.Any one who work with a devil is a devil too.Davidson Owumi knew that NFF is an Illegal body and Why would any one choose to work under NFF anyway?he deserves whatever he got from evil NFF.

FANS ARISE AND OCCUPY GLASSHOUSE!

Claude Le Roy, remember him? He is qouted on mtnfootball as saying, that ''Nigeria football is a huge waste of talent. They have the potential of becoming the first African team to win the world cup, but have failed to organise to move ahead''.

A HUGE WASTE OF TALENT! WHY? We keep tolerating mediocres at the helm of football. We have left what we love the most at the mercy of inept, corrupt and blind administrators.

With the likes of Green, Maigari, and the other shortsighted persons running our football, the future remains bleak!

ARISE O COMPATRIOTS AND OCCUPY GLASSHOUSE UNTIL THE MEDIOCRES FLEE! GO MAIGARI, GO OOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!

Things are just getting funnier for this country called Nigeria. I am forced to use the word "God help us". It is simple, we have allowed mediocre men to run not only our DEAR football but everything in Nigeria. People who has no knowledge of NOTHING, are allowed to remain in position because one godfather somewhere want a quota system and put him/her there. When will the best in each place be allowed to run things in Nigeria not minding where they come from? i mean the best in everything. For 51yrs Nigeria has virtually achieved nothing as a nation and when it seems they achieved something at all, we know those that has achieved it in any field. LET THE BEST BE ALLOWED TO RUN THINGS IN NIGERIA, SIMPLE.

wale: 2012-01-21 20:27

How can Nigeria football move forward when we are not serious aout using real age? I dont want to critisize unnecesarily. People please see the picture of our U17 and judge for yourself. http://www.demotix.com/news/1012096/kenya-vs-nigeria-under-17-women-world-cup-qualifier

luise-hero: 2012-01-21 21:14

nfa was the name i use to known but how nff originated and control nigeria football wonders me
,, abeg court or no court will this veld help our football growth nonsense

blackpanther187: 2012-01-21 21:52

I dont know really much about this court case in detail, but I remeber when everybody was blaming our old Nff with Lulu and co.
Till today i didnt understand what we had against our old board!! Under Lulu our women, u17, u20, u23 national team where not that bad. if we see it from the perpetive compared to other african nations. How many african nations can have a good women, u17.... national team like nigeria und Lulu? Plus they qualified us for 2010WC with a black man.

I am not saying that they were perfect but take a look at our record for all national teams without them recently..... no Nations Cup, no Olympics and.....

I know that there are some strong forces(politics) who wanted them out!! And this politicians and rich nigerians are responsible for this mess. They made it possible for this recent NFF to get to power by all means. what i am tryin to say is that a gruop of politicians made there own law and and got what they want.

We all know that it was pressure, from certain people, that our old NFF sacked Amodu!! Lulu would have kept his word and and let Amodu go to South Africa if he is able to 1. qualify us for South Africa 2. get us to the semi-finals of the Nations cup in Angola, they didnt say anything about winning a medal, but we won a medal!!

the curse of Amodu.....!

blackpanther187: 2012-01-21 21:55

And dont forget all our national teams were runed by Nigerian coaches !!

We could be proud of this!! But Lagerback the savior came.....

With the brutal removal of Samson Siasia, things fell apart so badly everywhere in our football. I have been consigned to a mere watcher, though with so much trepidation, of the goings on in the football climes of Nigeria. Do I have something to say? Not yet! I am still watching.

Happy New Year to all the esteemed members of the forum especially guys like Mega million, Game 147, Ken Gaddaffi,Amata Plus, luise-hero, Black Panther and the rest I can't remember now. Stay blessed; and endure more clarity in your minds.

@Futbol-Aficionado,Happy new year with more new year's ahead.Changing a Coach is a high profile Business in Nigeria.I was in shock to see Zambian Coach who gave Amodu Gari to smoke last Nations Cup,is still in Charge, while this is Nigerian's 4th Coaches in a year,Largerback,Eguaveon,Siasia and Keshi. What a great country?

I watched Keshi and Amokachi '****yse' matches on SuperSports last night and kept wondering what our football is supposed to gain from the adventure.

NFF said it will help mould them into better coaches; I ask: are they supposed to learn from Benni Machatty or the other man whom South Africans love to hype? I suppose Amokachi could learn from Shaun Battlet!

This NFF is the worse thing to have happened to our football. I feel so embarrassed to watch clowns mislead and mismanagement our national treasure, the only thing Nigerians can call their own when politicians have looted everything else - football.

Claude Le Roy described Nigerian football as, ''an incredible waste of talent''! Why? Bad administrators!

I have given up hope that government would rescue our football from the stranglehold of Maigari and Green. The courts? Same as government!

My hope I place in God to rid our football of these parasites who suck the life out of our football.
THIS NFF MUST GO!
