Itumeleng Khune will sign contract extension at Kaizer Chiefs ahead of trials at Crystal Palace

Khune staying at Chiefs – but is off to UK soon

Kaizer Chiefs supporters can breath a sigh of relief: negotiations between Amakhosi's management and Itumeleng Khune over his new contract are going smoothly.

Khune's contract with Kaizer Chiefs expires in June, and speculation was rife that he could join big spenders Mamelodi Sundowns at the end of the season.

However, his manager Jazzman Mahlakgane says his deal extension is almost done – despite the fact that he has trials at Crystal Palace coming up.

"I have not spoken to any team about Khune except Kaizer Chiefs," Mahlakgane says. "I can say our negotiations with the club are going smoothly and I hope to finalise everything by Monday.

"The trials [at Crystal Palace] are still on and we have agreed that he will only go to the UK in the second week of February."

Mahlakgane also reveals that Crystal Palace are serious about signing Siphiwe Tshabalala. Click here for more!

Why is he be linked to Downs while his manager has not been spoken to. This is just lazy jornalism by Kickoff. How can we want after just signing Onyango who is better than him. He was going to benched at Downs...actually we dont need dancers.

KC is doing it's best to export SA talent, the other dude in dat picture is off 2 france. Only Ajax is assisting us, de rest should just keep quite when it comes to players being sent to europe cause they know nothing about dat subject.

Khune owns 15% of Rhampsody, the upclass restuarant that's closing capello outlets, so probably te watch you are seeing is worth your two year salary. This is the same bar Jali and the cow Mabena like to hang on to hoping Khune will give them free beers... "this is not Newscafe boeties", Khune reminded them!

If he signs an extension, he can kiss Europe goodbye. There is no why Crystal Palace is going to pay a transfer fee, they are broke. Why do you think they are interested in Tshabalala? Because he is free in six months. I cannot believe how these players put all their faith in the "Big 3" PSL clubs, when over the last 10 years, their record of selling South African players to Europe has been pathetic. I can count on my one hand the number of South Africans they have sold to European clubs over the last 10 years. What an Idoit.

mh. mh. It must've been on account with a 24 months fixed interest, with a buy back guarantee and a death threat on top!.....otherwise where did they get the money from?

I am surprised that Pie_rats fans in particular are so BITTER when Khune is at the verge of extending his contract at Chiefs, I thought they will be less concern about KC, focus on their team's players possibility to make it overseas.

By the way is there any player at Pie_rats

To stupid Pirates supporters, go to Chiefs website you will find out that Khune has renewed his contract by three and half years, Jambo, Sweswe, Nale have both renewed with three years while Josta Dladla did it by one year with an option to renew by year. All these players have signed on the dotted lines. Shabba has agreed to renew for three years but he will only sign on Monday as he had a concusion. It will also be interesting to note that Chiefs approached Sundowns for permission to start negotiations with Pelembe and that prompted Sundowns to offer Pelembe almost what he was looking for. The nonsense that he was on the verge of join Pirates are unfounded as they never made a formal approach to Sundowns for the player. I think what Chiefs did by keeping their key players will dispel the myth by Pirates retards that Chiefs is broke and they cannot afford players. Their team is busy swaping players and getting some for free like Benni but because they are sick, they always talk about things that does not exist at Chiefs. Infact before Benni arrived at Pirates the highest paid player there was below R70 000 and the rest were earning peanuts. The team supporters because they are not used to winning trophies, they assume that winning those five trophies makes their team rich.
