Haruna Lukman hates bench role

Nigeria's Haruna Lukman believes he has more roles to play for Dynamo Kiev on the pitch other than warming the bench for the Ukrainian league leaders.
The former Golden Eaglets skipper, who is currently in Spain with his Dynamo teammates for pre-season, told the club's official website, Thursday that he's looking forward to a better performance this year.
"I am happy in Dynamo Kiev, I am safe. However, the only sad thing is in football terms as I don't like sitting on the bench. I want to play football... I have been well trained to be useful to the team. Although I'm not coach, I've learnt to compose myself to the team's game tactics," the former Gateway ace said.
Speaking further, Lukman admitted he would prefer a more central role, even as he added that the presence of compatriots Brown Ideye and Yussuf Ayila has eased his pain in the East European nation.
"I like playing in the centre of the field. A little closer to the goal area, or the attackers. I can play anywhere the coaches decide.
"It is a good thing to have them (Yussuf and Ideye) in the team as I don't get bored. Also, I was very glad when my girl arrived from France. At this time, Kiev is now my native home," Lukman said.
