Moroka Swallows skipper Lefa Tsutsulupa tells KickOff.com that he is still locked in contract negotiations and is hopeful of signing a deal that will see him staying with The Birds.
The 31-year-old midfielder says he hopes to put pen to paper in the coming days so that he can focus all his attention on helping Swallows challenge for the League title.
“These things sometimes take long to finalise because of the amount of paperwork that is involved,” Tsutsulupa says in a chat with KickOff.com. “I am happy at Swallows and have a very good working relationship with the coach and all my team-mates.
“I definitely want to keep on playing here so hopefully this [signing a contract] will happen so that we can all fully focus on preparations for the resumption of the League.”
Tsutsulupa’s agent, Mike Makaab, is in the middle of contract talks with Swallows CEO Leon Prins, who says the club is eager to keep the midfielder at Dobsonville.
While Tsutsulupa, whose contract runs out at the end of the season, has the option of signing a pre-contract with any club, he has pledged to remain with the Igesund-coached side.
“We did well during the first half of the season and it is my desire to complete what we have started together,” says the Swallows captain.
