Tignyemb happy with contract extension

Bloemfontein Celtic goalkeeper Patrick Tignyemb has spoken of his joy at extending his stay at Siwelele, but reveals he may not end his career there.

The two-year extension for last season's Absa Premiership Goalkeeper of the Season, was announced just before the New Year.

"It was very important that I signed the contract extension. I'm very happy at Celtic and I felt I had to renew my contract as I was happy with the terms of the contract," the Cameroonian tells KickOff.com.

"The club offered the new contract to me a long time I go and I thought about it for a long time. I talked with my family about it. I am very happy with the players and with the people at the club, so I didn't want to change."

However the 26-year-old confirmed that he is unsure where his long-term future lies.

"Honestly I don't know if I will end my career here at Celtic, but it is important to be at this club. I am happy here and so are my family and we like the city of Bloemfontein. I have been working hard at the club but anything is possible."

Along with Tignyemb, Erick Mathoho and Angelo Kerspuy were also offered contract extensions and agreed, something which the Phunya Sele Sele ‘keeper feels is important to Clinton Larsen's side.

"Mathoho and Kerspuy are two really key players for the squad. It was important for them to renew their contracts at the club in order to maintain continuity.

"I hope that they will do great for the club as they are key for the future," concluded Tignyemb.
