Libya national team coach Marcos Paqueta has announced his official 23-man team for the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations.
The Brazilian coach only had a 24-man provisional roster to start with and the choice of who to cut was made for him as Oussaama Fazzani pulled out of the squad for personal reasons.
Fazzani’s withdrawal leaves Paqueta with a personnel crisis in attack, as he only has two centre-forwards to rely on in Ahmed Zuway and Iheb Al Boussifi. Any injury or suspension during the “Mediterranean Knights’” first continental adventure since 2006 could cause a major headache for the coach.
Libya will face co-hosts Equatorial Guinea on January 21 in the opening match of the tournament. Other Group A opponents Zambia and Senegal, which they will face in that order on January 25 and January 29.
