Chippa United's Roscoe Pietersen not interested in Orlando Pirates move

Pietersen not interested in Bucs move

Posted: 2012-01-09 15:59

Roscoe Pietersen remains focused on helping Chippa United gain promotion this season and is not looking to move away from the National First Division side just yet.

That is according to the defender's agent, Glyn Binkin, who says that the reported interest from Orlando Pirates and several other Premiership sides is flattering, but that it would be in the best interests of the player to remain at Chippa until the end of the 2011/12 campaign.

"His focus remains with Chippa United and he wants to help them get promoted this year," Binkin told KickOff.com. "The National First Division is a very good league and we are not in a hurry to try and fast-track him into the Premiership.

"He is learning all the time playing week in, week out, and he is enjoying the opportunities that Chippa United are giving him to establish his reputation in South African football.

"He is a very level-headed guy, much like his cousin [Lamontville Golden Arrows defender] Robyn Johannes, and he understands that it is in his best interests at the moment to stay at Chippa United until the end of the season.

"We will continually evaluate the interest in him and if we feel that he is ready to make the step up and the right opportunity comes along then we will act on it."

The 22-year-old was previously in the SuperSport United reserve side but never made a first team appearance for the club. He has also played for Western Cape Vodacom League outfits Battswood, Old Mutual Academy and Milano FC.

Chippa have made a solid start to their first season in the second tier of South African football and currently sit fifth in the 16-team League.

Soccer is short career, grab the opportunities while they are still available 'cause loyalty won't put food on the table.

The one fact is that he wont play at pirates and the other one is that he will regret ever turn them down.l say he must sign with pirates on condition they loan him to chipa utd .This way both parties get what they want but then again they need to loan him for two season thats if they want him ready

In the past a lot of players rushed to be in the books of the big teams, then realised late that they have the money but never kick the ball again. The list is endless. Good decision my boy. If you good you'll stil make it to the big teams or in Europe.

There is more into this im not buying into Binkin story.

Who says Pirates are interested? These agents like to mention the name Pirates to add value to their players. Leave Pirates out of this.
