Matlaba to fix Bucs' left-back problem

Posted: 2012-01-09 11:26

Free State Stars defender Thabo Matlaba is set to be unveiled as an Orlando Pirates player this week.

Matlaba has been touted as the answer to Pirates' problems at left-back, stemming from the number of suspensions and injuries to Ruben Cloete.

According to a source close to the Mokoena family, the 22-year-old was cleared to Bucs at the weekend after successful talks between Irvin Khoza and Ea Lla Koto chairman Mike Mokoena.

Pirates administrative manager Senzo Mazingisa says he has not yet been informed of the transfer, as the club only reopened today.

The player's agent, Abbie Rasimphi of June Sixteen, tells KickOff.com he is still to consult with his partner Musawenkosi Dhlamini to confirm the news.

"I was in Bloemfontein for the the ANC 100th birthday celebrations and I haven't got hold of my partner Musa, as he was in Mozambique. I will meet him today to brief me about the boy's future, but if he has already signed for Pirates then it's good news as Pirates is one of the biggest teams in the country," Rasimphi says.

Seems like Pirates is the only team busy in the transfer market, what are the other teams doing?

Totalfootball : 2012-01-09 11:58

Hei I haven't seen much of him but I hope he is capable to compete and give us extra strength.

Do you really care because remember OPFC leads and others follow? I guess others are still grazing they haven't yet arrived back in the kraal...like I said they will find us way ahead with signatures and the next thing they get surprised when we win trebles hence they resort to belittling our success by saying we won by fluke and by bribing referees.

Useless teams!

What's happening to our youth development set up??? Is "Njenje" Palacious's work being undermined or is no longer effective???

The last cream of the crop to be produced were the likes of Cheeseboy Mokoena, (the late) Gift Leremi, Tso Vilakazi, abo Duku-duku Makhanya, etc.

I'm becoming concern now!!! UP THE MIGHTY BUCS!!!!!!!!!!

@Ernest Fakude, I you sure this is not another "SWAP DEAL", cause "SWAP DEAL" is the nature of business at Galaxy F.C.?

I REPEAT: I wonder which donkey they will be swapping with for PELEMBE this time around, cause they failed when Teko Modise was used.

THE GAP-TOOTHED BULGY MAFIA IS THE CHAMPION OF "SWAP DEALS", Swapping every donkey, goat, & baboon to Mayfair!

HALALA "SWAP DEAL F.C." HALALA!

Champ "Superbrand": 2012-01-09 12:20

I also have not seen much of this player, i hope is not another Mthombeni. That leftback is a serious problem. We need a quick leftback who can cross the ball well. I am not even convinced by Cloete. That position is up for grabs, if you sign, grab the opportunity.

Champ "Superbrand": 2012-01-09 12:23

@Specialone,

Swap deals works for us, cheap labour from Zim works for Chimpanzees, and cash works for di tlaela!!!!! So leave us alone in peace.

Mabuccaneer, I'm telling you, you'll love this player.! I saw him several times playing for FSS. He is adventurous, highly mobile and skillful player. He defends well, good in attack and even score goals. Infact this guy is like Jacques Kallis in cricket because he is an all-rounder of note who can play different positions..!!

Sweyts : 2012-01-09 12:57

Good player.

nwayza : 2012-01-09 13:10

Lmao James "he's an allrounder like Jacques Kallis"...As a bucs supporter I'm happy about strengthning our weaknesses

Muzi : 2012-01-09 13:18

Stylish : 2012-01-09 13:24

Infact how many players These Rats going to sign, when are they going stop,Jagues Kallis bieng the latest, next it will be Mike Tyson,or is that mahala money, eish this toothless domkops.

SpecialOne : 2012-01-09 13:26

First "SWAP DEAL" them from other PSL/NFD teams, before they can even shake hands with their big-thug-brothers at Galaxy F.C. send them to NFD team for another "SWAP DEAL" swap deal "SWAP DEAL", eish there is to many swap deal "SWAP DEAL" swap dealings!

I REPEAT: I wonder which donkey they will be swapping with for PELEMBE "SWAP-DEAL" this time around cause they failed to "SWAP DEAL" swap deal him when Teko Modise was used for that "SWAP DEAL" swap deal.

Yah neh. Chibuku FC are very busy in the transfer market buying all sorts of donkeys and mules. This team is cash flush neh ! Oh, I hear the price of cocaine has doubled in the past year that's why Chibuku has so much money to throw around.

Baroka fc : 2012-01-09 16:57

I hate Bobby for what he is doing to Zebras, the likes of Tzozo does not deserve such bitterness. They are also humans, for heavens sake.
