Free State Stars defender Thabo Matlaba is set to be unveiled as an Orlando Pirates player this week.
Matlaba has been touted as the answer to Pirates' problems at left-back, stemming from the number of suspensions and injuries to Ruben Cloete.
According to a source close to the Mokoena family, the 22-year-old was cleared to Bucs at the weekend after successful talks between Irvin Khoza and Ea Lla Koto chairman Mike Mokoena.
Pirates administrative manager Senzo Mazingisa says he has not yet been informed of the transfer, as the club only reopened today.
The player's agent, Abbie Rasimphi of June Sixteen, tells KickOff.com he is still to consult with his partner Musawenkosi Dhlamini to confirm the news.
"I was in Bloemfontein for the the ANC 100th birthday celebrations and I haven't got hold of my partner Musa, as he was in Mozambique. I will meet him today to brief me about the boy's future, but if he has already signed for Pirates then it's good news as Pirates is one of the biggest teams in the country," Rasimphi says.
