PSL change calendar to accommodate Bucs

Posted: 2012-01-06 14:21

The PSL have announced some fixture changes for the second half of the Premiership season.

The change has been made to accommodate Orlando Pirates and Black Leopards, who will be participarting in the CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup respectively.

"Following the release of the detailed fixtures for the CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup, we amended our fixtures," PSL general manager of football Derek Blanckensee said today at the League's headquarters in Johannesburg.

"These, together with some specific requests for changes coming from our broadcast partner, have resulted in some changes to our fixtures for the remainder of the season.

“For the remainder of the season we have the alternative dates to which the affected Premiership matches will be moved in the event that our two teams remain in their respective CAF Competitions.

“For example, you will see that 11 April is shown as an alternative date. Matches involving Orlando Pirates and Black Leopards from the weekend of 6-8 April will be moved to 11 April if they are still participating in the respective CAF tournaments,” Blanckensee says.

Don't worry Mr. Blanckensee non of the teams you're worried about will make it through the first round.

The weekend of 6-8 April PSL will be back in action together with those team tacking part both by default fighting relegation.

And what i would like to know would Leal still be around after they get popped out?

Vala umlomo wakho wena mlotho ndini and respect board member's decisions coz unlike you they have careers and not a job. Now go back to work u slave.

Back on the subject: Thank u PSL. These news are most welcomed and those who know football know that this happens all the time even in Europe where football associations make fixture changes to accomodate teams playing in Uefa Champs League and other club continental competitions.

Barcelona had their LaLiga fixtures postponed so that they can play in the World Club Cup tournament. Now who the stink are u Amkhosikazi?

Mncim...

It is evidently clear that some palookas just comment for the sake of it. The quality of comments has deteriorated to very poor levels and football knowledge is non-existent. The site is now full of rabble-rousers who bark without substance in the poor observations.

Well done, Psl..! That's what we call bowing down to the Champions, and every team in this league is doing it (kneeling down).. I am confident that Orlando Pirates will make the country proud on behalf of all the other teams. You can't get a better team to represent you South Africa than the Mighty Bucs..!

Undisputed Double-Trebble Champ Mopheme: 2012-01-06 18:04

This is the team (Orlando Pirates) that will make the entire African people and the whole world start to take South Africa serious again. We appeal to all the people to rally behind this Mighty team, because you know if you don't(rally behind them) you will suffer endless heart attacks when they break all kinds of records on its way to African destruction..!

The Ghost: 2012-01-06 21:06

now its the changes must b done, b4 was ssu & Downs there ware no accomodation. Also luk @ the ficture every team play agains Chief will play Downs the next game the whole season, is that fair play?

The Ghost: 2012-01-06 22:08

Win ALL the trophies at hand first, and then the league will accommodate you or give you special treatment as well, because if there is something the South African Football governing body can count on is Bucs making South Africa proud in Africa, a quest even our own national team cannot at he moment come close to realizing.

Noks : 2012-01-07 11:09

I REPEAT, WIN ALL THE TROPHIES AND THEN YOU WILL GET SPECIAL TREATMENT, BECAUSE IT TAKES A SPECIAL TEAM TO DO WHAT THESE MIGHTY BUCS DID.
