Black Leopards will finally complete their move from Makhado to Polokwane by setting up base in the Limpopo capital when they report back for training next week.
Following their promotion back to the Premiership, Leopards have been enticed by the Limpopo government to play their home games at the Peter Mokaba Stadium, a venue that was used during the 2010 World Cup.
Though they have been playing their home games at Peter Mokaba Stadium and using Giyani Stadium as an alternative Leopards have remained based in Makhado, just over 100km away from Polokwane.
However, Lidoda Duvha have now used the start of the New Year to complete their relocation.
"We have officially moved base to Polokwane and from next week when we resume training we will be in Polokwane and not Makhado.
"The move has been necessitated by the fact that we now play our home games at Peter Mokaba Stadium. It makes no sense for us to drive over 100km to play our home games when we can be based in the city of Polokwane. The club will now be based in Polokwane with players and offices also there," explains Thendani Thidiela, the club spokesman.
Since their initial promotion to the PSL Leopards had made Thohoyandou Stadium their traditional home before moving to Tshifulanani Stadium in Thulamela following their relegation in 2008.
With the completion of their move to the Limpopo capital, Leopards have now become a complete Polokwane club.
