The Sudanese national team has named Nigeria-born strikers Kelechi Osunwa and Kayode Sherif Sule in a provisional squad for its Africa Cup of Nations 2012 campaign.  

Osunwa, 27, who plays at Al Merreikh and Al Hilal’s Sule will have an opportunity to play at the Afcon when it begins on January 21.   Top scorer in the Sudanese league for three seasons, Osunwa played for Nigeria twice in 2004, but not in competitive matches, allowing him to still switch nationality to Sudan. On his part, 23 year-old Sule has never played for his country of birth.   Two other Nigeria-born players, Francis Ikechukwu and Isaac Malik, failed to make the Sudanese squad due to the lack of time in processing their international passports.

Collin Udoh I am very disappointed in you. I know you copied this article from goal.com, but that photo you put up by yourself isn't Kelechi Osunwa!!!! this is hilarious, how did you end up as the webmaster? you are good as an analyst on air, but as a reporter/newsman you lack the passion. just do what you like

@flippomendes...that is Kelechi Osunwa, Al Merreikh play in that orange striped kit and I follow them so please stop talking rubbish here.

if the authorities in the glass hse dont see any quality in these boys, why wont they play for other countries? i beg leave them alone....9ja does not have problem with strikers but midfielders and defenders, i wish we could even trade off some strikers for midfielders and defenders from ghana, which they have in abundance!!

Meanwhile, Nigeria has abundant talents and everyone cannot play for Super Eagles at once. So, congrats to those selected by the Sudanese.

This should be good news for Nigeria and Siasia.After all you can throw your support for Sudan because two of your countrymen are in the tournament.

@kassav2k or cassava Yaw. we will support Ghana. We will also pray that the only ONE striker you have, Asamoah Gyan will recover on time and will not ballon a penalty over the bar with 30secs to the end of the match in the quarter finals of AFCON 2012

@Ben and Detmolder...flippomendes is right on spot!! I saw the picture he had earlier, it was a photo of a Kano pillars player and not Osunwa. I and my friends even laughed the error off. That Flippomendes pointed it out is good. Please in future dont take sides in any matter you are not sure of
