Twala in action for FC AK

Orlando Pirates sign William Twala from loan at FC AK

Bucs make first signing of the new year

Posted: 2012-01-01 15:42

Whilst most PSL clubs have been enjoying the Christmas break, Orlando Pirates' management has been busy, talking to several players ahead of the January transfer window that opens this week.

The Mighty Buccaneers have made their first signing of the new year, bringing back midfielder William Twala from FC AK, as they look to boost their squad for the second half of the 2011/12 season.

Twala, who is also a product of Bucs' development academy, returns from a loan spell in the First Division to join the rest of the Pirates team when they resume training on January 9.

The 21-year-old's agent, Karabo Mathang, confirms to KickOff.com that Twala will be wearing the black and white this year.

"Yes, it's true that Twala will be playing for Pirates in the new year," she says. "After all he is their player, as he was only on loan at FC AK."

Meanwhile, Pirates are set to offload another group of players to make room for new signings.

Set to be shown the door are Patrick Malokase, Lizo Mjembu and Siphelele Mthembu, while Najabulo Ntusi, Mark Mayambela and Chiukepo Msowoya are likely to go out on loan.

I think Chiukepo Msowoya i a good player who was not given a chance to showcase his talent. He is far better than Mabena and Ndulula combined. He always make himself available during the game and takes responsibility to shoot at goals. He would have formed a dedly combination with Bennie. But who decides on player transfers? Is that you Tebogo? I smell a rat here!

Welcome back, boy. To be honest I haven't seen you in action but because I trust my technical team that they can't recall a flop, I will also welcome you back.

As for 'Amakhosi', I really am beginning to doubt if he has a girlfriend. He doesn't only fill the space with nonsensical comments but he comments even where it's not necessary...or should I say where he doesn't have facts...come on boy...I know animals behave like that because they are used to wilderness but try to give the Amakhosikazi a better reputation, please. Stop embarassing yourself.

We can't afford to offload a player like Mayambela, esp with the 2nd round going to b difficult & with the imminent African Safari...

He has the ability to win us a lot of games coming off the bench, so I beg the technical team to keep him in the team!...

As 4 Mjempu; all I can say is wish him luck in finding a new team as he failed to impress when given a chance... Msowoya used to miss a lot of chances & is as effective as Mabena is when it comes to putting opposition defenders under pressure, so he won't b missed...

Welcome bck William, grab this opportunity with both hands...

bucs n their mediocre signings

Tolly.ba.Thathe : 2012-01-01 22:24

Sobuza, Kolukutta (or whatever) and Amakhosi, can you animals find the nearest zoo and graze there if you really don't know what to say? This is a plartform for intellectuals who know and understand what they are talking about...football.

You and filthy comments are not welcome here. Perhaps you can use the opportunity to fix things up in your camp with VV and Bobby continue to mess things around and you, the fans, continue to be at the receiving end of the mess up. Stop pocking your noses in the affairs of the mighty OPFC.

Somizi said at the Metro Awards that "...I wish my haters a long life"...to witneSs my success. As OPFC I say the same to the detractors...the more they talk negatively of us the more the trophies keep flowing into our cabinet.

Baroka fc : 2012-01-01 22:26

Msowoya,Malokase,Mthembu,Mjempu,Mxoyana,Ngobeni & Vagras must be released.

LordJerry : 2012-01-01 22:28

Welcome home boy you deserve to dorn the famous black and white shirt of the biggest brand in Southern Africa....

Out of all the players we are afloading only Malokase will be missed.... Mayambela was given a chance against Wits and he flushed his opportunity down the drain, I say good ridence....

Msowoya just like Mthembu this club is too big 4 them... Ngobeni should also leave he is really bad when we track back...

They come they go but Pirates remains... Who will be our biggest rivals in 2020... Swallows out and Chiefs going out...

Sea Robber : 2012-01-02 09:06

People are gonna die of anger because of pirates making history right left and centre so all you haters out there lets see what your so called big teams in africa if they can break our records and set new ones.No team in the old Nsl or Psl has managed to win more than ten or fifteen million rands in prize competitions during a season except pirates who have won 37 million rands within 18 months, even if you can count the prize competitions which the zebras have won over the past 10 years it does not come close to what pirates have achieved in 18 months.Football 101 was masterd at the University of Orlando.Ichuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu bhuti omnandi uyangilimaza shem faka kancane

Undisputed Double-Trebble Champ Mopheme: 2012-01-02 10:16

That's the difference between the Champion and the also runs.Whilst they are still sleeping, the number 1 ranked team in South Africa(Pirates) is doing something positive and not resting on their laurels...

I personally am against the move of Mark Manyambela and Chiukepo Msowoya out of Pirates. While he (Manyambela) can make wrong desicions on the field of play sometimes but he remains a good player. The guy can change the game and lift other players when they look tired. He was one of the reasons why we won the treble during Krol era.

When it comes to Chiukepo Msowoya, I still don't understand why he is not given game time. Is Mabena better than him..? No, I dont think so.! As to the other above-mentioned guys we wish them goodluck in their future endeavours..!!

Totalfootball : 2012-01-02 11:26

Happy New Year everyone, especially Mabhakaniya a mantle.
As for signing players I welcome any good player joining the ship irrespective of where he come from!my concern is the potential of loosing certain players like Msowoya whom I still believe they have what it takes.as for comparing Mabena & Msowoya.I don't think the two are similiar in any way.Msowoya is an out and out striker and he can only be effective if you know how to play him and I believe out of 5 good chances he will score three but the same cannot be said about Mabena,to me Mabena is not a striker.there are about 2 positions which I think Mabena can do well playing there.rightback or wing.look for one to be a striker you must love scoring goals and not only love it but have an eye for goals.I've played as a striker from young age to amateur till I sustain an injury that ruled me from playing football.strikers are born and you cannot make a striker, you can only polish him.sometimes coaches see certain players scoring few goals and they convert them to strikers without looking at certain aspects and attributes of a player.it was wrong to treat Mabena as a striker and he must never play there!

morake@mokopane : 2012-01-02 12:00

Y release Lizo, Ntusi while we have long term Jele out on injury & Thunderstorm Msowoya.

mr cool  : 2012-01-02 12:18

I love this team but i'm against the exit of mayambela he did a lot for us when we won the treble he must stay and I can't wait to see dominguez in black and white sisazoyidedela induku ichuuuuuuuuuuuu

Happy New Year to you too, Bakaniya and to all the OPFC family members.

I must, however, confess that I am sold to your ****ysis especially on Msowoya. The boy still has what it takes and can offer a lot for us. I still maintain that he was not afforded ample time to establish himself and of course show us what he's capable of. I think we must start, as OPFC family, learn to give players a chance and be patient, well of course mindful of what other school of thoughts are arguing about that at this level we can't afford to be nurturing or developing players.

Thera4life : 2012-01-02 18:19

Plz nt mayambela

viper: 2012-01-09 14:29

Guys,,we do not watch Pirates practise, if Msowoya fails to impress during the training session then tough luck.
