Bidvest Wits and AmaZulu remain at loggerheads over the transfer of veteran striker Sifiso Vilakazi who the latter are desperate to snap up as soon as the transfer window opens in the New Year.
AmaZulu are willing to offer Vilakazi his desired two and a half year deal if they get him in January while Wits will only be keen on a one year extension once the 32 year-old’s contract with the Clever Boys runs up in June.
While Wits and Usuthu are stuck in the mud KickOff.com has gathered that another two clubs in the bottom half of the standings are also interested in the burly forward.
Wits are apparently willing to let Vilakazi go for a fee now – six months before the expiry of his contract – if the player is to get his desired two year deal wherever he goes.
However, Wits are also not desperate to let Vilakazi go as they still value him and will negotiate for him to stay on if he gets no takers.
“Sifiso prefers a two year deal instead of one and AmaZulu are at the front right now despite the fact that the two clubs are yet to reach an agreement.
“AmaZulu are actually prepared to give Vilakazi the two and a half year deal that he wants if he joins them in January. However, it is up to the two clubs to reach an agreement first,” explains Ali Tlhoaele, the player’s manager.
Vilakazi joined Wits in January, 2010 from Ajax Cape Town who he had also joined in January, 2008 from Free State Stars proving just how much he is of a 'January transfer move man'.
