Orlando Pirates goalkeeper Moeneeb Josephs has extended his gratitude to his goalkeeper coach Alexandre Bezzerra Revoredo, after he was named the 2011 Telkom Knockout goalkeeper of the tournament.
'Slim Kat' says the biggest challenge for him was returning from a long lay-off and regaining his form.
The Bafana Bafana goalkeeper was sidelined from February 2011 to the start of this season because of a shoulder injury, which amounted to approximately five months. However, the Brazilian, who started work at Pirates on July 8, was seemingly up to the task of ensuring Josephs was his old self again.
"I was out for five months and when I got back from injury, there was a lot of hard work ahead but he [Revoredo] never let up. He kept on working with me and I think I'm getting back to form so I would like to thank my goalkeeper coach," Josephs says.
Revoredo has been in South Africa for four years having previously worked with Leal as a goalkeeper coach for Amazulu in 2007, before crossing the floor to join Lamontville Golden Arrows.
Meanwhile, Josephs has also heaped praise on the resolute Bucs defence.
"Personally, this award means the world to me but I have to dedicate this to my defenders because they have been making my job easy for me. It means a lot to me, but it means just as much to them," he concludes.
