'Slim Kat' lauds Revoredo

Orlando Pirates goalkeeper Moeneeb Josephs praises Alexandre Bezzerra Revoredo

Posted: 14 December 2011 Time: 11:25 am

Orlando Pirates goalkeeper Moeneeb Josephs has extended his gratitude to his goalkeeper coach Alexandre Bezzerra Revoredo, after he was named the 2011 Telkom Knockout goalkeeper of the tournament.

'Slim Kat' says the biggest challenge for him was returning from a long lay-off and regaining his form.   The Bafana Bafana goalkeeper was sidelined from February 2011 to the start of this season because of a shoulder injury, which amounted to approximately five months. However, the Brazilian, who started work at Pirates on July 8, was seemingly up to the task of ensuring Josephs was his old self again.   "I was out for five months and when I got back from injury, there was a lot of hard work ahead but he [Revoredo] never let up. He kept on working with me and I think I'm getting back to form so I would like to thank my goalkeeper coach," Josephs says.   Revoredo has been in South Africa for four years having previously worked with Leal as a goalkeeper coach for Amazulu in 2007, before crossing the floor to join Lamontville Golden Arrows.   Meanwhile, Josephs has also heaped praise on the resolute Bucs defence.   "Personally, this award means the world to me but I have to dedicate this to my defenders because they have been making my job easy for me. It means a lot to me, but it means just as much to them," he concludes.

@Langa Mos,

What make hlokoloza look good is that he is quick off the line and most South African players dont know what tod in that situation, so they blast Khune and he looks good. Sometimes he is good with his distribution. Other than that, he is very poor with crosses and his positioning and makes many silly mistakes.

Khune is 23 years old and potential Bafana Captain (after Pitso stars dissappear), Snoekie is 32, he should be #1 for Pitso stars! But Europe my bra? Phela Itu is soon replacing the aging Cassilas in Real, and Snoekie is twice Cassilas' age in real years (39 years)!

@Dooba OPC,

Hhayi wena Dooba!! dont come here and play marbles, you cant be serious, Sis Khuli is 23yrs old? That hlokoloza dance cant be 23yrs, age cheating at its best!!! I thought the family business shut down the age cheating development. As for Real signing u Sis khuli, in your dreams!!! After the so called best player in SA (Tshakalaka) failed trials at Mvela, there is no way Khuli can be invited for trials.

You are the one playing marbles: that dom arrogant cow with false teeth you call your #1 is way passed his sell by date- the guy has played with Rabutla, and today Rabutla has 8 years of coaching experience.

Anti-BOBBY: u clearly do watch soccer broer, against SSU in the league, Pirates defence was flat, but Slim kat protected that game.

i can count plenty of games where Slim kat saved the day, I hold him very high for not cheating with his age.

its not a secret, we know people who attended school with Itumeleng, the boy is 30yrs, but that is arrlavant.

lets compare both using a SWOT approach.....are you ready.

The only strength about Khune is ball distribution.

Moeneeb is strong in organizing the defense and leading from the back.

shot stopper, Khune is the best

Crosses - Moeneeb is just strong in this area.

Achievements - Moeneeb is just superior

Keeping Clean sheet: again slim kat wins

Which cocludes that Moeneeb's contribution has an impact in his team achieving greater success. In Modern football, Khune would struggle hence his dismall performance at the national team.

This Teethless magoshoa should be thankful that Musona was not part of this TKO because everyone would have seen how average this magoshoa is. If anyone does not believe this they should pray for their Toothless chairman to atleast organize a friendly match against ZIM when we play Ghana.

Although you are out of order with that KAK approach, I will give you the benefit of the doubt to avoid noise, and hope one day the youngster at 32 years make it to Europe and take the #1 jersey in the current Pitso star- I encourage him to do it now while Itu is nursing his injury, Pitso is still coach- because when the new coach comes and Itu recovers it might be too late for the young man!

Congrats, 'Slim Kat', you deserve it. People will say whatever they say...they won't change the fact that you are good keeper...only fools of coaches coaching BB cannot see that.

They are still praising a mickey mouse keeper who is carrying the entire responsibility of us not going to AFCON. I hate that moron who behaves the same way the fans of his team.

Say big up to Reveredo for me...ask him also to find us a capable standby keeper.
