Black Leopards are "excited" about their CAF Confederation Cup draw, and say they are "well prepared financially" to take part.
Lidoda Duvha have been drawn against Motor Action of Zimbabwe in the preliminary stages of the competition.
Leopards, who are making their maiden appearance in African club competition, qualified to play after meeting Orlando Pirates in the Nedbank Cup last season. Since Pirates won the League and Nedbank Cup, they will participate in the CAF Champion League, the second placed team from the Nedbank Cup was handed the Confederation Cup spot.
Leopards will host the first leg at home on the weekend of 17/18/19 February 2012, and are expected to travel to Harare for the return match on the weekend of 2/3/4 March.
The winner of the Black Leopards/Motor Action fixture will meet St Lupopo of DR Congo in the second round stage, set to start at the end of March.
"It's a very exciting draw," Leopards PR and media manager Tendani Thidiela tells KickOff.com. "Zimbabwe is just close to home, and having [former coach] Sunday Chidzambwa around, after having coached in Zimbabwe, will give us more information about our opposition team."
Despite the financial implications of playing in Africa, Thidiela says the club is ready to foot the bill of travelling around the African continent.
"When we played Pirates in the Nedbank Final we knew our chances of playing in CAF competation, and we are well prepared to play in Africa.
"We should not have accepted the invitation by CAF if we were not well prepared financially for playing in Africa."
