Gabon came from behind to beat hosts Morocco 2-1 in the Final of the first ever CAF Under-23 Championship on Saturday in Marrakech.

Two goals from Obiang Obiang and Allen Nono cancelled out Younes Mokhtar’s strike in the 21st minute.

Gabon were the surprise team of the tournament, and in an open match took the game to the Moroccans, and once they led rode their luck to complete their fairytale tournament.

Meanwhile, Egypt clinched third place with a 2-0 win over Senegal, thanks to goals from Mohamed Abdel Baset and Saleh Gomaa.

The win means Hany Ramzy‘s side will be playing at the London 2012 Olympic finals along with Morocco and Gabon.

Senegal will get another chance to try and reach London via a play-off scheduled for next April against a team from Asia.

@sam, you are talking like a 70 year old is better than a 20 year old? Ironically you are better when playing a young team than an older team. So stop holding to the myth that 30 year olds are better than 27 year olds. Ok?
