Orlando Pirates has a better squad pound for pound than any team in the PSL. This is a testimony to that assertion. Doutie was not in the TKO finals, but we did well. He represented his country and the CAF selectors have unanimously decided that he was SA's best player of the tournament. Fact.

Evans Kangwa from Zambia is a young Buc joining in January and has been selected as the Player of the tournament and he capped it with 7 goals making him the leading goal scorer of the tournament. Now this is what we call class, it confirms that OPFC has galaxy of stars. (we have trophies to show for it). Catch us if you can..Amen

Doutie is one of the best yet underated winger with a never say die attitude. His workrate is amazing. I am glad he belongs to the Champions of all PSL trophies!!!!

I am a Chiefs fan but i think this PIRATES team is a pure class they are at the different level really.
HOWEVER, I think in the next 2 seasons (when we have a coach who does not talk tu much on press, devide players - do the job on the field) CHIEFS will do the same or even better, who knows?

“Though we didn’t do well as a country to qualify for the 2012 London Olympics, I am proud that my ability was recognised in this manner and at least, South Africa has been represented in the best eleven selection,” concluded the lanky Cape Town-born star

IS DOUTIE TALL, AS PIRATES WEBSITE SUGGEST? or at pirates you are considered a tall player at 1.62m??

Someone at CAF was balancing the equation, it simply did not make business sense to omit SA from all its usual transactions; really, this was a business decision- it did not make business sense to omit SA from all CAF things, it was avoiding the risk of losing SA as a business partner/financial booster, especially since law 14.1 was such an embarassment to the latter! And this is despite the fact that CAF is right all along!

BigJ_Okocha: 2011-12-12 14:13

I think this is just consolation.

Dr Khoza must be awarded for listening to the cries of his supporters (when he was serving two lords to concentrate more on Pirates) as PSL Best Chairman of the Decade for he has in one year done what no other chairperson could have ever thought of doing. That is investing in above par top quality players

I would like to join Lucky "Captain my Captain" Lekgwathi in thanking the supporters and the chairman for what Pirates have turned out to be in listening and continuing to listen to the voices that goes to the stadium in support of the team.

As a happy people, I am Happy for Doutie for being proven to by CAF that he is one of the stars in the galaxy of stars

The only South African on this list, Well done Doutie. This means you work really hard to represent your country. And deserve a spot in Pirates starting 11, and maybe a substitute position in Bafana. Excellent job.

Well done to the young man, though I have do not understand how, he became the best No. 6 for obvious reasons.

I think the general soccer loving public should just eat humble pie and accept that we now have the true cup specialists, Amabhakaniya. Nna lesandawana, I take my hat off to you champs, you are truly good.

I am very happy where I am and can promise you that we will fight tooth and nail to wrestle the league from you.
