Wits confident ahead of TKO Final

Bidvest Wits take on Orlando Pirates in the Telkom Knockout Final this evening; Wits are the form team, but Bucs are fancied favourites.

"We all know that Pirates are a very impressive team and should not be taken lightly at all," Wits assistant coach Eric Tinkler tell the PSL's official website.

"We have done well to get ourselves to this stage, but now it is up to our players to put in a good performance against Pirates who are obviously going into this match as favourites," the former Bafana Bafana midfielder continues.

"If we can replicate the form of our semi-final match against Santos and our previous league match against Pirates then I feel we stand a good chance of causing an upset."

Julio Leal has a full strength Bucs side to choose from today, but Tinkler says he has full confidence in his men.

"It's going to be very difficult. Pirates have a few of their regulars back in their starting line-up and we are well prepared for that, especially a player like Benni [McCarthy].

"We do not have any special plans for him individually as we prepare for the whole Pirates side. We will also welcome a player like Mbulelo Mabizela in our side and that's a player with a lot of experience and will add depth to our defense."
