Head of youth Duncan Crowie has been temporarily tasked with coaching the senior team against Amazulu [on December 16) and Jomo Cosmos [on December 20].
Santos says: "This announcement does not spell out the end for current head coach, Boebie Solomons. In fact Solomons was part of the decision to bring Crowie to the forefront, indicating the team needs rejuvenating."
Solomons says he was indeed a part of the group that decided on him being put aside for the two matches in favour of Crowie.
"We reached a point where we had to do something. We were not getting the results we needed. We were not getting any better. When the club reaches that stage, it needs to bring some freshness into the squad. It needs someone to bring a new voice and new energy," Solomons says.
After the two matches, Santos are likely to decide on the way forward but it would seem the writing is on the wall for Solomons.
The People's Team currently occupies 14th spot on the log after winning just three of their 13 League matches this season.
