Former Sundowns and Swallows coach hits out at standard
Gorowa slams poor Amajita coaching

Former Mamelodi Sundowns and Moroka Swallows head coach Ian Gorowa has joined the chorus slamming Safa for the failure of its national teams.
Gorowa, who has been in Gaborone since the start of the annual Cosafa youth tournament on a scouting mission for the Brazilians, said he was disappointed with the way South Africa had applied themselves at the competition.
He said that together with Zimbabwe’s Young Warriors, Amajita “lacked organisation and even a basic playing structure.”
Safa has already charged BidVest Wits coach Roger da Sa for giving his opinion on the country’s soccer administration.
De Sa has been asked by Safa to explain comments he made two weeks ago when he urged the national soccer controlling body to get its “house in order”.
De Sa's remarks came after Safa had sent late call-up letters requesting the clubs to release more than two players for the Caf Under-23 Championship in Morocco, which served as a final 2012 London Olympic qualifier.
“All I did was give my own opinion and suggest that football must be run by people who have played the game ... but maybe I hit a nerve,” De Sa said.
Gorowa, in a report published in the Zimbabwe Herald, decried the general standard of play on show and felt poor coaching techniques and pressure to win had largely contributed to the decline in comparison to what he had seen in previous editions of the Cosafa tournament.
“The standard this year is below what I expected.
“Talking from a coaching perspective, I think the coaches should realise that this is a development tournament and thus we should be seeing winning with quality but most of the coaches here have just wanted to win without quality.
“I watched South Africa’s structure and their shape on the pitch was not pleasing to see.
“You should be able to see a team's shape whether they are playing 4-3-3 or 4-2-2 but these youngsters do not have to be confused with some delicate systems that affects their football.”
