Parker: Amakhosi fans need to boost players

Bernard Parker says Kaizer Chiefs fans need to boost their players rather than demand they be taken off when they are not playing well.
The Bafana Bafana international was the latest victim of the boo-boys when Chiefs fans got on his back in the second half of their 1-0 win over Mamelodi Sundowns on Sunday.
Parker had his confidence sapped by the pressure and was taken off by coach Vladimir Vermezovic.
After the game, Parker said: "Kaizer Chiefs comes first but the fans need to boost up the players rather than put them. I will have to just keep my head up."
Coach Vermezovic said his decision to take the player off was not influenced by the fans. "I'm never going to make any substitution because of supporters," he vowed.
"Sometimes the supporters are very emotional but it's unfair on Parker. In the last couple of games he has not scored but he works very hard.
"He never gives up and I hope that he will score again. A striker does get sensitive if he isn't scoring. But I believe in Parker. He's a good player," added the Chiefs coach.
Parker has scored just twice – one a penalty and the other free kick in the derby against Pirates – this season in 14 starts since joining Chiefs at the seat of the season.
