Parker: Amakhosi fans need to boost players

Posted: 2011-12-06 14:55

Bernard Parker says Kaizer Chiefs fans need to boost their players rather than demand they be taken off when they are not playing well.

The Bafana Bafana international was the latest victim of the boo-boys when Chiefs fans got on his back in the second half of their 1-0 win over Mamelodi Sundowns on Sunday.

Parker had his confidence sapped by the pressure and was taken off by coach Vladimir Vermezovic.

After the game, Parker said: "Kaizer Chiefs comes first but the fans need to boost up the players rather than put them. I will have to just keep my head up."

Coach Vermezovic said his decision to take the player off was not influenced by the fans. "I'm never going to make any substitution because of supporters," he vowed.

"Sometimes the supporters are very emotional but it's unfair on Parker. In the last couple of games he has not scored but he works very hard.

"He never gives up and I hope that he will score again. A striker does get sensitive if he isn't scoring. But I believe in Parker. He's a good player," added the Chiefs coach.

Parker has scored just twice – one a penalty and the other free kick in the derby against Pirates – this season in 14 starts since joining Chiefs at the seat of the season.

Once Again we Fuel Debate on matters that are not Necessary my Editor! Sometimes i ask myself whether we know that the Culture of Booing players has been around on RSA football since the 70's. The only difference was that booing was directed at the opposing Team, its unfortunate that Parker is the recepient. he must just hold firm, this too shall pass! i like his proffesionalism!

You cost too many games wena stlaela. There is what we call sharing in football. You are so selfish like mandla Masango.
I will be very happy if you can be loaned to Nyaope addicts aka thugs fc.
You still lack football basics at this level.
You were told to part Majoro but because of your non-functional brain you decided to go and part Tau, Jambo, Shaba, Baloyi Yeye and Washington Dc. you were all over the field like a brainless Tlou SeCowlela.

FISTOS: 2011-12-06 15:25

we have been patient enough parker,
a good player cannot play 14 games badly, and a good player cannot play 14 games without atleast man of the match award

@Chiefs/Zebra Fans....
it is little bit disturbing that you boo Parker instead of VV or big steak - who told you in daylight he doesn't care at all about you guys wasting your supporting chiefs....

Next week I will opening a short course of how fans shouls behave, any student who are interested pls find my detials below

Parker you ar right Broer, but not only Chiefs supporters, but all the team supporters. We supporters ,need to learn from European supporters.Anotherthing is this Vuvusela,I dont like them.Singing and fluit(whistle) is our culture. The coach cannot communicate with his players during the game.If you are close to the playground, the player can even hear you what you are expecting from him,Like dribble past him,or on top of him or rough tackle him.

If I watch the game at the stadium, when sleeping at home I hear this sound of Vuvusela, which is not right.Another thing Parker, what if the coach substitute you and we the supporters dont want you to be substituted, would you support the coach or the supporters.

Parker says Chiefs comes first, VV says Chiefs comes third Bobby says Chiefs is his family business.

"If Parker plays kaak so its ok to keep him in the field because he works hard" says VV and who does not? Anyway why does KC supporters boo their players? Players dont play badly because they want there are a number of reasons why. Anyway who am i its a family business.

CAF Rule 14.1: 2011-12-06 15:49

Le wena Paker: 2 goals in 14 games... thats a strike-rate of 0.14 goals per game!!
Thats reason enough for the fans to boo you, in fact the booing means 'coach why this one when we have so many strikers' why not try Lebese, Khune, JD, Masango.
At Pirates we bench or relegate you to the stands if you dont score so that you regain the hunger to score ask: Mayambela, Ndulula

JaliManyisa: 2011-12-06 15:52

@Champ bones
Yooooooohhhh
Dont say that to Parker. His problem is that ,he joined the wrong team.If you play with cows, you'll end up being a cow.
Just like Yende. He was marvel to watch at TUKS along with Jali. Jali joined the team that he saw, will suit his style of play.Yende joined Chiefs ,because it was his childhood dream like Parker to play for Kaizer Chiefs one day.
That is why they are flops at Chiefs

Hayi am amazed now.is this not the guy chips farmer fans were singing praise of him?what went wrong now?hayi hayi machips stop booing this poor guy.
But for a striker to score 2goals in 14appearance this is very bad.it shows he is parker serious.

Phokojwe: 2011-12-06 16:14

I like the way you always putting more effort, dont stress much its only a matter of time before you start banging in those goals. My only worry is the position you play on, it is either you score or create cause you always on the wing so how are you gonna score if you are on the wing?? Keep on working hard your turn will come.

Dooba OPC: 2011-12-06 16:21

Parker you are right. We are Orlando Piatrates FC, and I appeal to khosis out there to rally behind the team in these trying times, lest we end up like the latter club during the Mutombo period. As far as I know Parker is a real work horse, the fact that he is not scoring should not be a metre of his abilities and loyalty. This is a team gents, one man teams dont make it far, let us try to be civil with our boys, nothing lasts forever, good or bad, so will our bad shape at the moment, it wont last forever!

Dooba OPC: 2011-12-06 16:22

Eish, I meant we are not Orlando Piatrates...

CAF Rule 14.1:

You forgot to put Mbuzane and Mabema/na, their strike rate is minimal to say the least, lest I offend their pride. Dont forget that Jele is still the top goalscorer at that thing of yours you call a club!

Telkom KO final tickets selling fast

Posted on 06 December 2011 - 16:21

Tickets for the 2011 Telkom Knockout final between Orlando Pirates and BIDvest Wits are selling fast and just less than 7000 tickets are available.

The PSL printed just over 50 000 public tickets and with 43 000 already sold by midday today, the game could be sold out before the end of the week.

“We have just over 50 000 public tickets available for sale. So far 43 000 tickets have been sold and just under 7000 tickets are available,” Zola Nkuta, PSL Marketing General Manager told Orlandopiratesfc.com.

The Buccaneers family who are yet to buy their tickets are urged to hurry to the nearest Computicket and Shoprite Checkers outlets and buy their tickets to avoid any disappointment.

Meanwhile, the PSL, Telkom representatives and Moses Mabhida Stadium Management are finalising the issue of public transport and details will be announced in due course.

I won't boo Chiefs players or rather any player but I won't salute or boost the team for playing boring football.Until u Parker & other Bobby's quality get ur act 2gether,4get abt being boosted. That must 1st be earned in the field of play.

Kgadima: 2011-12-06 17:43

Don't be discouraged, mfana, your work rate is second to none in the PSL.Just keep taking on the opposition the way you are doing.Goals will come and the same supporters will celebrate with you.Your situation is not different from that of Mbuyane who was also misunderstood by the Pirates fans but now they can see his value.Remember Wellington Manyathi and Thabo Mooki, they were also unpopular when they started with Chiefs but today they are legends of the team.

Skhiumba : 2011-12-06 23:14

Parkers furstrations are well placed but lets go by the facts he is better paid scores two goals midway the seaso how dare he be called a striker. As for us the supporters no respect for us chiefs is our team its us who have to put up with pirate fans, buy tickets, buy team merchandise. Start scoring goals who knows we might compose a song just for you ask::madida mbesuma musona

semanga: 2011-12-07 07:50

U should knw dat u ar nt playing 4 a small team nd u should knw its culture including fans, u cnt play 14 games as a striker nt playin well then we boostu up NOOO!

magebhula1937: 2011-12-07 08:23

Gentlemen please refrain from mentioning Pirates players when you're having problems with your players, after all Pirates is the best team in South Africa and cannot be compared to Kaizer Chiefs.

chucky: 2011-12-07 08:53

boo bobby when u see him @the stadium, do it...he deserves it after wht he said abt u family business supporters.

Parker, a.k.a. Defensive Striker, maar what did u expect playing for a big overrated family biznis team like chips? Boy u act like u neva played overseas. Oh wait, u played for infant teams from countries that we can't even point out on the geography map that's why u don't know the pressures of playing for big clubs. Here's a hint, go watch all La Liga games and Serie A games and you'll see even greats like Ronaldo, Figo and crew have all been booed and had bananas thrown at them.

So shut your mouth wena!!! You like look like you've had steroids or implants installed in your lips that's why u talk too much. Your lips are wider than Chomee's legs on stage...

gotze: 2011-12-07 12:43

ya parker u not a bad player, u hv a football brain and u r very clever with ur movement u just need to play behind some1 who knws football not Ngcobo and the goals wil cm. those ppl who boo u hv nver played soccer before just keep ur head high and wrk hard

Matt/ Tremble4DaTrebleChamps: 2011-12-07 14:03

@Gotze

Bra u don't know football or soccer for that matter. Even someone here calculated this cow's goal average and he averaged 0.14 goals per game; that's less than 1 goal per game that he scores. A REAL soccer person knows that the game is not just about individuals, but stats and numbers. U on 1 hand seem to be lacking on that. Yes, we understand that u want to horse ride on this cow's back and show support and sympathy, but bottom line is this cow of yours is the same cow costing our national team from winning. Why he still gets selected, angazi! And one more thing to expose you that you know niks about soccer, how can u encourage a striker to play behind a teammate when he's supposed to score goals? Idiot!!!

Derem: 2011-12-07 14:23

we need goals from you parker, like "killer" shut the boo boys up by scoring crucial goals.
