Kumasi Asante Kotoko lost for the first time this season in the Glo Premier League, but their closest rivals failed to take advantage, with the Porcupine Warriors still sitting on top of the League.

Emmanuel Baffoe scored a deflected goal on 33 minutes to bring to an end Kotoko's eight game unbeaten run in Bekwai. It took Baffoe's goal tally for the season to an impressive eight and leave their lead at the top of the standings hanging by a thin thread.

And Kotoko's problems were compounded when midfielder Michael Akuffo was sent off after 75 minutes.

Despite the loss, Kotoko are still top of the league after Chelsea, Dwarfs and Hearts of Oak all failed to win.

Dwarfs now remain the only unbeaten side in the League after they were held at home by Berekum Chelsea in a goalless draw.

Hearts of Oak were involved in a similar result at the Accra Sports Stadium that leaves Kotoko top of a the pack on account of goals scored.

Both Kotoko and Chelsea have a goal difference of plus nine but Kotoko have scored 15, two more than the lads from Berekum.

Hearts are tied on the same points with Kotoko and Chelsea, 18 but have a an inferior goal difference. And Dwarfs are just a point behind on 17 in four place. It means the top four sides in the league after nine games are seperated by a single point.

In fact, it is so tight at the top that Wa All Stars are in fifth place but only two points behind Kotoko while Edubiasi in fifth place are just three points behind the Porcupine Warriors.

At the other end of the table, Bechem United lifted themselves from the foot of the standings with a 2-0 win over struggling AshantiGold. They are replaced at the foot of the table by Wassaman United who went down 0-2 at the hands of All Stars at home.

Mighty Jets are second from bottom but can escape the bottom three if they collect all three points against Liberty Professionals later today. A Liberty victory will take them to sixth place behind All Stars and three points behind the leaders.
