Maritzburg withdraw Ncubeni

The national Under-20 side have suffered a big blow ahead of their trip to Botswana this week for the Cosafa Cup tournament after Maritzburg United withdrew midfielder Jabulani Ncubeni from the squad. 

Ncubeni was supposed to be part of the squad travelling to Gaberone on Wednesday but United wrote to Safa at the weekend to requesting that the player return to Pietermaritzburg today to start preparing for the League game against Free State Stars at the Harry Gwala Stadium on Wednesday.
 
Under-20 team manager Abraham Ndawonde confirmed to KickOff.com that Ncubeni has since been withdrawn from the team.
 
"As I speak to you now, I am busy facilitating transport for him go to KwaZulu-Natal today. It is big blow for us to lose such a great player who has also been part of the camp but we have good replacements to take his position," said Ndowonde.
 
SuperSport Uinted defender Grant Kekane is expected to lead the Under-20 side as captain during the Cosafa tournament.
 
The Under-20 squad is:
 
Goalkeepers: Abraham Mpandle (Mamelodi Sundowns), Sbongiseni Ndlovu (Sivutsa) Njabulo Kubheka, (SuperSport United); 
 
Defenders: Mthokozisi Dube (Orlando Pirates), Mbongeni Gumede (Sivutsa), Junior Sibande (Tuks), Sanele Khuzwayo, Grant Kekana, Jino Moeketsi (all SuperSport United), Seun Ledwaba (Sundowns );
 
Midfielders: Miguel Timm (BidVest Wits), Snethemba Ngidi, Cebo Meiwa (SuperSport United), Masuku Menzi (Mpumalanga Black Aces), Pogiso Mahlangu (Tuks);
 
Strikers: Andile Khena (Atlie), Thabani Mthembu, Letsie Kwapeng (Bay United), Jerry Mcwabo (Black Aces )
