Ajax Cape and SuperSport United played out to a 0-0 draw at the Cape Town Stadium on Friday night in a match devoid for the most part of much spark or excitement.
For Ajax the first half was a disappointing one as they created virtually nothing in front of goal.
The visitors by far had the better opportunities and could have taken he lead in the third minute, but Anthony Laffor shot straight at Sander Westerveld when clean through on goal.
In the 20th minute a blunder by Westerveld should have ended with Thabo September punishing him, but he failed to find the target with the goal at his mercy.
On the half hour mark Laffor was close to putting Gavin Hunt's in front when he whistled a shot wide from 30-yards following some good interplay.
Three minutes later United had the ball in the net after a goalmouth scramble, but the effort was disallowed for off-sides.
The first half fizzed out somewhat but afrter the restart United were soon on the attack and nearly scored in the 50th minute when Atusaye Nyondo struck the bar, the same player going close a few minutes later.
The hosts nearly got in on goal in the 70th minute, but Cole Alexander just not able to pick out Khama Billiat.
Cole also missed a decent chance three minutes before the end of regulation time with a wasteful shot after the ball had fallen kindly to him, ensuring Matsatsantsa maintain their unbeaten start to the season.
