Khoza: Let success not go to our heads

Posted: 2011-11-16 09:13

NSL chairman Irvin Khoza has urged the game’s stakeholders in this country to continue their work of making the local League one of the strongest in the world.

Addressing members of the board at the annual general meeting in Sandton yesterday, the Iron Duke lauded his colleagues for their work in making the Premier Soccer League such a financially viable one.

However, he quickly warned that complacency and infighting were massive dangers going forward.

“The league has enjoyed exceptional success. All of you are aware of the historic broadcast rights deal completed with SuperSport,” Khoza said.

“As our league continues to grow, we should all bear these words in mind. We must not let success go to our heads. We must not start to bicker and quarrel over the fruits of our success.

“Colleagues, please let us all remember, together and only together, we have increased the value of our broadcast rights. Together, and only together, we have increased the value of our sponsorships.

“Together, and only together – we will continue to raise the standard of our league. I believe this remains our greatest challenge – to stay together, to grow together and to win together.”

What happened to mashaba yesterday.i am told his position was discussed and a meeting is set for next week.Thanx god he will be out soon. Sucess is not everything if in the process you the devalue the product. Khoza has worked hard to increase the value of our league and this mashaba guy must not come with his tendences.

it does not matter Dr ivan how financialy viable is PSL the starndard of soccer displayed is up to nothing zero i think we should review the recruitment of foreign coaches n players to the psl so we can improve our starndard of play to equal the value of PSL and stop enriching yourself and start filtering money to regional leagues, vodacom and NFD that wil also minimise corruption down (bribery)
