Amajita made a good start to their preparations for the Cosafa Under-20 Youth tournament yesterday, beating Lesotho 2-1 at the Laubscher Stadium in Kroonstad.

Thabani Mthembu and Sanele Khuzwayo scored the goals.

The Cosafa tournament is scheduled to take place in Botswana next month.

Amajita play a second match in Gaborone against Botswana on Saturday, November 12. The squad departs on Friday, November 11.

Amajita have been in camp since Friday, November 4, at the High Performance Centre in Potchefstroom.

"There is a lot of excitement in camp, and I have identified some promising players," coach Solly Luvhengo says.

"So I am hoping that these two friendly matches will help me fine-tune my squad ahead of the Cosafa Cup.

"From these matches I will be able to select the squad that I will take to the tournament as I have 40 players in camp currently.

"The only challenge I have been having is of players going in and out of camp due to exams, but at the same time it shows that we encourage these players to also pursue their education as it is equally important.

"I am confident though that after the two matches we should have a very strong squad for the tournament."

The South Africans return home on Sunday, and will reassemble on November 20.

South Africa has been drawn in Group C alongside reigning champions Zambia, as well Mauritius and Tanzania.

Other nations participating in the tournament are hosts Botswana, Angola, Comoros, Lesotho, Madagascar, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Seychelles, Swaziland and Zimbabwe.

The tournament takes place in Gaborone from 1-10 December, and Amajita depart on November 30.

Thabani Mthembu, who scored a goal is one Chiefs player who was expelled owing to age-cheating INVESTIGATIONS AGAINST HIM. He might be a cheat BOBBY, but he is scoring goals which is what we need as Chiefs fans. Sign him for a senior team. After all this boy waisted a lot of Chiefs resources (being groomed at club) of while at development and the only way to repay is to score goals for the team.
He is not alone in this cheating thing in SOUTH AFRICA where home affairs system still not up to scratch. ONLY with Kaizer Jr and some few others who were born from well-know parents of which you can easily confirm their births without any chance of altering their real age.
SO PLEASE CALL THE BOY AND FORGIVE HIM!!!
