A full house was what new Nigeria coach Stephen Keshi had on his first day of training with the Super Eagles.

Good thing that a new coach was appointed immediately after the exit of Siasia and for the prompt organization of these friendlies in order to get the coach working.
However, I think we have seen these players for quite a while and their capabilities and limits are known by Nigerians by now. Is it not time to invite some new players just like Ghana, Cote d'ivoire and other soccer prosperous countries are doing. England have just invited Sam Ameobi, they will just line him up to prevent Nigeria from ever using him again, this is a guy who showed patriotism by joining the flying eagles on his own but dropped for a reason only Obuh knows. Nigerian football needs deliverance and I think is hard time the glass house visit the synagogue.

possession and pressing drills on the artificial turf of the FIFA Goal Project Centre is not enough. Keshi work on the defence line, think how u can combine Ujah and Yobo on that defence, also work on the midfield. We are tired of heart breaks. Give us cause to smile on saturday.

@@luise-hero:: Weting this Mikel Obi do for you self ?? Mikel is Nigeria best midfielder now, Pls respect Mikel or do you think is easy for place for a big club like Chelsea ? Lukman Aruna wey u dey talk about no dey play for his team, na bench warmer, i can see you that u don't anything about soccer and about Quality players at all, Why u dey compare MIKEL with Lukman Aruna ?? that is very big insults, Pls respect MIKEL, he is one of the best midfielder in Europe and The best midfielder in Nigeria we have now, pls let us support each other in Nigeria and show each other love , Ghanians always support each other, that is why Ghana football is the best in Africa now, Ghana dont ahve better players than Nigeria at all , but Nigerians dont like each other and we have bad mouth , Ghana support Chelsea because of Essien and when Gyan was in playing for Sunderland, hey support Sunderland because of GYAN, they show themselves love in anything they do and they appreciated what they have, but Nigeria don't Appreciated what we have at all, that is why we don't move forward

How many of our players are in CAF fotballer of the year shortlist? Our problem is not just coaching but a systemic one. We need God's intervention.

It's good that players respond to the new leadership. That shows something positive. We just need to forget the past and move on.

@Lappy, what made Mikel the best midfielder in Nigeria? I like Mikel and support Chelsea because of him but, I reserve my comment about him. I will support giving him the captain's arm band but he has a bad attitude.

@Lappy :sincerely i don,t have any thin against mikel ,,yes i agree with you mikel is a quality player and also playing for one of the best team in Europe,, and that is the reason am always hard on him i expected him to be a leader by example the commitment to serve is father land is not there always faking injuries,, believe me no coach will succeed with the way mikel play with is boring midfield style of play,, ,
to say support him as a Chelsea player that is 100% possible but he is not giving enough when it comes to national duties ,,
ur last statement as par unity sake loving one another in Nigeria instead of hate you are 100% right but remember nigeria is a big country with different religion and culture so our ideals are always different compare to ghana four state in nigeria are bigger than the whole ghana so only football unite nigeria i may be wrong but that the way i see things

@ Charles and Marvel............Go to the Synagogue to do what? To see a man who cannot see beyond his nose? Please don’t come and advertise In The Name Of God PLC here. God does not have time for mentally lazy people like us. Calling on God for everything is certainly a trait of all backward 3rd world nation, Nigeria Inclusive. Our own case is even more pathetic as we are more Christian than Jesus and More Muslim than Mohammed.
What forward people will do is appoint people with brains in the right positions, plan, work extremely hard to realize the plan, review and re plan as need be, Improve on the existing structure and do all what it takes to get results, then call on God not the other way round.
That’s why we will never progress as a nation. Go back and read your history, all advanced nations of the world have been through more terrible times than what we can Imagine as a people and they don’t even have a 3rd of the resources we have.
Devine intervention is appoint people with brains in the right positions, plan, work extremely hard to realize the plan, review and re plan as need be, Improve on the existing structure and do all what it takes to get results, then call on God.

I don;t know why some forumites will just come on this forum and display their ignorance with such confidence without getting their facts straight, @ innoma, moses opted out because of the game against zambia in kaduna, kaduna was the place his parents were killed and would bring back unwanted memories, @louise hero, the so called haruna you are clamouring for has not been fantastic this season, if he was that special, his club would not release him for the olympic qualifiers. lets all support our team no matter who is in charge.

I will be happy to see Nigeria football progress forward, but i must say this without mincing words, i will say that i have not seen anything that stands Keshi out against Siasia. When Siasia was appointed, it became a sin that appointed Kalika to work with him, people asked if there were no other coaches in Nigeria that he will work with. But Keshi has appointed a Togolese to assist him, but because Nigerians just wanted to do away with Siasia, nobody wants to talk about that. Today, Keshi is a messiah, but i am very certain that by the time he makes one mistake, they will come out and state the reasons why Siasia should have been retained. But, i do not blame them, why won't our football be shatters, when the criteria for heading the NFF was to be a card carrying member of PDP. If not, there are better candidates to head that position that are knowledgeable in football that were left behind for these never do well politicians. But whatever,i pray that luck visits the boys. But, my fears is how Keshi managerial stubbornness and Amokachi's ego will work together. Keshi needed someone that is cool to perform and not another strong character like Amokachi. Good luck to them.
