African Warriors want Vladislav Heric to pay for contrct

Warriors demand that Heric pay up

African Warriors chairperson Jabu Khumalo says that a letter of demand will be sent out before the end of the week to Vladislav Heric demanding that he pay for the months remaining on his contract.

Heric rejoined the struggling Black Leopards a week ago and, Khumalo claims, he left the team unprofessionally. Heric, who was contracted to Warriors until June next year, has been replaced by former Mpumalanga Black Aces coach Mark Harrison.

"I am disappointed with the way he left us, but we have taken the matter to the team's lawyers. We are not a ‘spaza' shop where everyone can do as he pleases," Khumalo told KickOff.com.

He said Heric did not sit down with them to ask for permission to leave as he had a better offer; he just told them that he was leaving.

"We read in the papers that he was still negotiating with Leopards and soon after that he wanted to go. We could do nothing by then, so I just told myself that I would follow the right procedure," he said.

Khumalo said as a team they don't just sign the contract for playing and added that they should have fired Heric when he lost the two opening League games.

"Heric spent last season without a job and we snatched him, but now he has left the team unprofessionally," he said.

Khumalo adds that in football one has to leave a team in ‘a good way' because he may want to come back when things are not going well.

New coach Harrison arrived in QwaQwa last week and he was on the grand stand on Saturday when Warriors were held to a goalless draw by Witbank Spurs at the Charles Mopeli Stadium.

"The departure of Heric has affected the team badly but there was nothing we could do as a team since he wanted to go. However, that is now water under bridge and we have to focus and go forward. Herrison is an experience coach and we believe he will give us the results," Khumalo said.

Harrison has signed a two years contract with the National First Division side.

"We know that it will take time for the boys to get used to the new coach but there is a two weeks break coming and hoping it will work to our benefit," Khumalo added.

Coach Heric, we believe in you, you are a man of honour and always stand behind your word. Don't worry about this, the truth always prevails.
