Hope for Zongo once more

Masibusane Zongo is back training with SuperSport United

Posted: 2 November 2011 Time: 12:27 pm

Masibusane Zongo's living conditions have changed, he is back with SuperSport United and training with a no-nonsense coach while a trial in Europe beckons.

It is quite a mouthful, but this is the life of one of South Africa's most talented young footballers and the good news is that there is hope on the horizon for the struggling midfielder.   "Zongo is training with SuperSport's Under 20 team and there is the possibility of a trial for him in Belgium very soon," says business manager Ashley Kotzin of Forwardzone agency.   "He's also living with an ex-player who knows the family so we feel this will be good for Zongo right now."   SuperSport's Under 20 coach is none other than former Matsatsantsa centre back Kaitano Tembo who was a no-nonsense player in his day and has done a very good job at the youth set-up.   "Well Zongo has only been training for about a week now so it is hard to give an assessment. But so far so good," the former Zimbabwe international says.   "He works with the physical trainer in the morning and then does technical work in the afternoon. We'll do our best to help."   The ball has been knocked back into Zongo's court.   The 21-year-old is under the guidance of experienced people at SuperSport United, a trip to Belgium is in the cards and he has an ex-professional keeping an eye on him at home.   Backpage Txt

I hope for his sake, he grabs the opportunity with both hands. He don't have to ask anyone who misbehaved and are in the doldrums now, he can just have a look at some players and how poor they are nowadays. It's really up to him to step up to the plate, nobody else can live his life for him. Not even play watch dog around him all the time.....Life is short and so is a soccer player's career.......Watch out buddy!!!!!

Forget it! The only reason he is training is because he is BROKE. As soon as he makes some money, the TRUE ZONGO will rise again. As supporter we might hope, but we have seen this all before. MENTALLY the guy is WEAK, and he cannot HELP HIMSELF.

HE's still only 21 but has been through so much already, neh, this talented boy has to mend his ways otherwise he will end up like Jabu Mahlangu, Steve Lekoelea, China Masondo, Skaapie Malatsi, Junior Khanye and all who fell by the wayside because of indiscipline, Zongo's talent is unbelievable, he has to do what is best for his career and stop his nonsense once and for all!!!!!!!

Sipho Nunens, Thabang Rammupudu, Patrick Mmbuthu, Junaid Hartely, Ace Gulwa, Mkhanyiseli Siwahla, Patrick Thwala, the list is endless, all these players did not reach their full potential due to off the field behaviour, Zongo must wake up and smell the coffee, he came before Serero but where is Creame' now, plying his trade in one of the best leagues in the world!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

who are we to judge, lets rather support because we all have our own tails.

Zondo is a victim of his own backround and needs serious support.

======================================================================
Asive Langwe can never be better than Zongo, he's struggling to topple Jayiya from the Wits starting line up, a very promising player nonetheless, the last time i checked, he was due for trials with the Italian club, Udinese but Zongo is on another level sir!!!

the problem with our players is they get overwhelmed by money,fame and without proper guidance some can't deal with that,teams need to have financial advisors and councellors for them,if my memory serves me well the was a time the late Gift Leremi had to stay with Palacios like what SSU is doing with Zongo,all they need is right guidance and they also need to play their part by staying way from scavengers or wayward friends cause the minute they are out of the lime light ,they'll also walk out on them ,hope Lerato has learnt his lesson and can guide this boy! he needs help
